As well as IV, VII, and XII.
VII Prequel: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
XII Sequel: Zodiac Age
Still, I highly doubt that they would make a new mmo game on new or upgraded engine any time soon.
Revenant Wings is the sequel to XII, Zodiac Age is just the name given to the HD remaster of XII.
And XII itself is actually a distant prequel to Tactics.
This is the second MMO, so there's no real reason why they wouldn't go for a third.
If XVI is going to come out that soon, we'd have heard about it by now.
Because an MMO takes a lot of time, money and resources, and has a high risk of completely imploding on itself in failure.
Considering that's exactly what 11 is doing, and 11 isn't half as popular as 14 is right now...
Wrong. They're going to wrap up ascian/hydaelyn/zodiark story stuff, since we can't be chasing ascians and talking chandeliers forever. You can't expect this to be the end when we have multiple worlds/multiverses.
Besides, FFXIV is among the most popular mmos, nobody ever would end a cash cow such as this. Thinking they'd actually do that is just naive.
We have potential story for years to come.
Although I really can't deny I would like to get a new engine, because limitations of this one pops up a lot, and you can feel the jankiness. Plus even the simple stuff like expanding glamour dresser space is hard according to them. Housing system is a disaster too.
