Black Mage will generally be more fun for content you've done already or looked up in advance, especially once it's gameplay style solidifies more at 60. You need to know when you're able to sneak those extra Fire spells in before switching to Umbral Ice or when the best time to put your Leylines down is without being interrupted, all the while keeping Enochian up and running.

Red Mage is easier for casual play since it's mostly Jolt > Veraero/Verthunder for the big fights with a lot of mobility options due to Dualcast and Swiftcast to get your long casts out, and your verdash (Corps-a-corps) and verbackflip (Displacement) to get in and out almost whenever needed. If you're the only Magical DPS in a party, your healers will appreciate your ability to Dualcast into Verraise for quick reviving others while they focus on healing or damage.

Plus, as a Red Mage, we're also born and raised with a feather in our hats, plus we get the fanciest job gear consistently. We're clearly the better option. :lilacstare:

Red mage is a bit more simple, but feels more simple and overall more fun for me.
I just can’t stand long cast times, and little to no mobility and rdm is better in this regard.

Also, the rapier wielding duelist theme is a lot cooler than, aye here’s a black robe and a higes ass rod lol vibe of blm.

That the the most inaccurate thing I've read in here.

I will have to report that because anyone who is going to follow this advice expecting the MSQ to level up 2 Jobs for him (with mild grind), will fail and will end up with the wrong impressions about the game. MSQ Won't get you to 50 with 1 Job without mild grind. Ofc after the lvl 50 MSQ there are alot more filler lvl 50 Quests, but you first need to get there. with both jobs.

MSQ is hell enough, you don't need to create more confusion

It is possible though, I did this very thing on during my 3rd playthrough/alt.
Especially with road to 70 buff. The key is that you do the quests on one job while you keep queing to dungeons etc on another one. If you feel really grindy you could even level 3 jobs simultaneously.

Now obviously a brand new player probably won’t be able to do it simply because they aren’t familiar with the systems, map etc etc, but it is completely possible without too much hassle. You just have to be wary of how you spend your time ingame.

And c’mon... the msq is far from hell :((
Red Mage to lvl 80 :D

Correct, it is wrong, you can Level 3 jobs doing the MSQ by splitting it up. I did.

I always out level the msq by miles due to the game just handing you free xp on a platter if you put in two minutes of effort. Daily hunts net you a level a day and it takes 15 minutes of time to do.

Less time than a required dungeon.

As I have been playing since beta and have over 10k hours in game I can safely say I will report you for being false and using false information.

==========================

To any SMART people.

As you level through the MSQ you have to choose a GRAND COMPANY.

A GRAND COMPANY allows you access to hunts (tons of xp and seals for high ilvl gear) and turn ins for crafters (again, high level gain as well as seals used in relics, animas, etc and all kinds of stuff).

Hunts can be killed by not even looking for them, you'll see them with a marker over there head.

THAT IS PART OF THE MSQ.

========================

I'm reporting you for false info and not informing players how the game really works and withholding information purposely from players and potential new players.

Red Mage is incredibly simple. It may be alright now but if you decide to become a serious player and you clock in a lot of hours you might end up boring with a job as RDM for your raids.

Black Mage on the other hand is harder to play but also more fun. BLM also deals much more DPS then a RDM.

The only advantage RDM has is that it can raise. This is helpful particulair for ultimate content and when you're learning the fight.
Savage has become super easy and well it's not really that 'needed' since you'll learn it much faster.

For a casual player my advice would be to play both. Go RDM when you're new (they have superior movement over BLM), swap to BLM when you're familiar with the content you're doing and see your big numbers increase.

Is this thing not banned yet?

You must be a special kind of lower life form, since there are only 3 people in my 8 years on Steam that I've actually blocked.

You are suggesting that as a new players, with no FC or any other Bonuses, and of course with no guidance you can lvl up not 2 but 3 Jobs to 50, which is incorrect and therefore you are reported from spreading misleading information.

Hunts + MSQ alone won't get you to level cap without any boosts for leveling, period.
And since you are clearly a forum crawler seeking for attention and will say even the stupidest thing to get it, I'm not going to debate you any more and will just let you be the worm we all know you are. Back at being blocked. Know your place.

Yes, you can. the game GUIDES you to what and where things are, including hunts.

You don't need a strategy guide for the game.

It even comes with a lodstone with a guide attached to it, the same lodestone you have to visit to pay your sub or see the news of the MMORPG you are currently playing and invested in.

How are you this dense? Even the first quests give you food buffs. You even get a tool tip telling you what food does.

And no, you don't need the xp buff from FC's either. there are tons who have played since beta and never once joined an FC and have all jobs at 80.

Is this one of those Rick and Morty things where you HAVE to be a genius just to "get it"?

The game directs you FORCED dungeons that can over level you, especially if you like the dungeon and want a gear set for it.

Not to mention the leves and guildhests that are part of MSQ in 1 - 50 as well as fates you decide to hit on the way.

Can't forget job quests and job quest related stuff that gives xp as well.

=============================

BUT, we all see how childish this will go down. You'll nitpick and try to use against me anything I happen to forget, like food buff, even though you get them in quests from msq and you get a tool tip telling you what it does. You know, common sense.

===========================

Anything else? Or do have more false information for people?

p.s. reported for the vile things you said about me.

They don't listen to reason or logic, they leave a snide comment and block anybody who opposes them.

I believe that that's a very important thing the mention. Many new players search for "Highest DPS Class" and go with Black Mage because of it, only to be disappointed when they can't achieve greatness at high level content because BLM is actually not that easy to play at all, but you can still get to him when you have some experience with each dungeons tactics.

I enjoy Red Mage a lot more. I find Black Mage mana management incredibly boring and dull
