Wait for a GM (game master) to come and talk to you.

You'll probably get a temporary ban. Like I said, you did something you shouldn't have. Got reported for it, and now you're caught and about to receive your punishment.

Warning aren't necessary. I'm sure you at least have an idea of what you did to warrant that.

Remain logged in until a GM can talk to you and they will explain what you did and what the punishment will be. If it was relatively minor and you behave yourself, you might get off with just a warning, otherwise, prepare for a temp or perma ban.

You can log out if you want but then you'll just go straight to a punishment. It's in your best interest to stay logged in until a GM appears and chats with you.

If i knew i would tell you, look i get i was punished for a reason but what am i supposed to do except just stand here with my character not being able to do anything and i cant even contact them directly? I think the worse thing ive said is ive cursed at my friend like ♥♥♥♥ talk in all chat and said ♥♥♥♥ you and piss off but it was me and them joking with eachother, it wasnt actually serious... theres no way im just stuck in this dungeon thing forever right i mean there has to be a way?

If you are talking to a friend keep it in private tell chat not shout, novice network, or even say etc... This game is 13+ so someone might report you for swearing . Most likely you might get a first warning or 24-72h ban.

Yeah I never understood this logic at all.

I been playing since beta and have had no filter, i cuss a ton in game and say crude things.

Maybe im a cool guy or nobody cares or the profanity filter exists for a reason.

But one thing I don't do is harass, stalk, use RMT, botting, or send multiple tells to people and ♥♥♥♥. Which is usually what people, probably op, got in trouble for.

The fact they are here shows me maybe it was not botting, maybe trying to buy gil or sending a tell to a reported RMT bot, but, regardless, if you were jailed, you did something bad.

With that said, i have seen people personally get in trouble for falsely flagging a real player as RMT and ♥♥♥♥ and they got banned for it big time.

So, until OP get's the messages from the GM, screenshots, posts them here, I can't feel sympathy for this. Who knows what they did.

OP should just wait and see, mark this thread as answered because people explained what the jail is and why they might be there, no need to speculate unless op posts screenshots.

I decided to do a social experiment and I walked in many crowded cities and spouted swear words and profanity, not directly at random people obviously because that is harassment but when I am talking to someone I try to make myself sound like a type of person that has no tact and just swear whenever I want and feel like it, haven't been sent to jail for swearing in the past 10 days doing it. Seriously you people that say: "A simple swear will get you jailed and maybe banned." need to stop this fear mongering you are all obviously not telling your side of the story fully because you know what you did was wrong and you all just want to shift the blame to others.

The OP did say that they in all chat swore at a friend in jest.

Maybe a bystander didn't realize that it was in jest and reported it.

Lesson here: be mindful of what chat you're in when you start doing things that could be viewed as breaking the rules if you're goofing off with your friends.

This game has the snowflake reputation for a reason like it or not. The TOS is either more harsh more enforced or more people who play this game file reports. There are quite a few MMORPGs that are just the wild west when compared to this game. So when someone comes from one of those they might think "what a bunch of snowflakes".

That is not to say that this is a bad thing. The community here is nicer than those other MMORPGs and that may be due to punishing bad behavior.
