Does your FC talk?

In discord voice chat just casually? in previous mmos i played there were always people in voice chat on ts. i have yet to see anything like that in discord period but i have only used discord for ffxiv and voice chat is dead in my fc. should i look for a new FC? are people just antisocial in this game?

we don't really voice chat in my fc since we all prefer to type xD

Most people are antisocial in this game. 99.5% of the game's content doesn't require human social interaction, so it kind of trains people into just being quiet and do your own thing in your own corner. That said, I've been in a few FCs that are quite active. The one I'm currently in certainly is, and the people even do yearly irl meetings. You just have to find the right FC, or even linkshell. But it can be tricky.

I use discord all the time with usually always having someone in the voice chat every time of day. Add me if you need friends :)

Depends on the FC. Not everyone enjoys voice chat, but over the years every FC I've been in people normally always type, with the few that like using voice.

I know another few MMO people feel obligated to attach "Discord required" (coughblackdesertcough) on every recruitment message that it feels good to not have to worry about Discord.

My FC pays for a dedicated TeamSpeak server and we talk all the time on Messenger and Discord out-of-game. We're all pretty good friends, FFXIV notwithstanding.

Our FC has a discord and it's usually quite busy in there on a day-to-day basis with people using VC as well as just being in VC but typing what they want to say. Our FC-chat is plenty busy too.

Then again; we also organise everything the game doesn't allow us to manage via our discord (stuff like handy links when it comes to crafting gathering, FC-organised events like pony-runs, officer-meetings etc etc). We never make it a hard requirement to join the FC but highly encourage people to make use of it even if they don't want to chat via voice.

People are very social, not everyone uses voice chat and when they do, it's generally for raiding or pvp

my FC is always on discord, ALWAYS 3-6 of them are in there talking. I've never even joined the discussion in voice lol as I prefer to type...

same we have our discord, and i'm also on the discord of a friend FC. Both are pretty talkative.
