The FC i'm part of we talk about the good and the bad, everyone has a free opinion, it depends on the FC that you find. Some people only see the good and others only the bad, i see it as a mix of good and bad meaning that the game has issues of course, nothing is perfect, what happens in games is the same as in real life, there isn't such thing as perfection. In comparison with WoW i prefer FF14, at least FF14 provides me with fun and good memories.
I agree with you, having playing WoW for so many years over time i have seen people that really loved the game leave the company and i don't think that they managed to find equally passionate people for their positions, i look at the guy that leads WoW Ion Hazzicostas when he goes on stage he seems lifeless, no passion on his eyes, no energy and on the other side Yoshi P shows passion and care for the game and he listens to the community, the dude has an interview with some press and he's also reading in game chat at the same time...plus in FF14 unlike WoW i don't have the lead of the community manager team addressing it's community by calling them anonymous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Nobody should be scared of expressing opinions and if you are, you really should question why.
Having played both of these games since their launches (WoW beta also), FFXIV is nothing in terms of toxicity in comparison to WoW, not on any level. Your "opinions" are yours, but if you walk into any community regardless of what it is and start complaining about things you hate about it, you're going to get negative feedback. That's just obvious and something you should expect.
You really shouldn't tell people to skip content because you find it boring, this really isn't the kind of MMO where skipping content benefits you as a player, considering it's a story driven experience. I can totally agree with skipping side quests generally as most are just filler, but MSQ stuff, that's just dumb to skip, however, it's their money and ultimately their decision. I just wouldn't let my opinion come into the equation, which you have.
The issue isn't your FC, it's your overall attitude and what you think the games population should be that are the actual issues. You cite their kindness and overall enjoyment in the game as fake, but there is more than enough evidence in several forums, servers and free companies that beg to differ. Are there people who aren't totally enamored by the game? Sure. Are there some that are more vocal about it than others? Sure. But most by and large, don't sit in chat and whine about something.
You think the game is slow, good for you. Your favorite class got nerfed, sucks to be that class. Literally, you complain about something you have absolutely no control over at all. Talk about pointless.
In terms of toxicity, the gaming community as a whole knew and accepted that prior to the arrival of League of Legends, WoW had the most toxic online community in gaming. You would see forums and posts about this wherever you went online. Sure, you MIGHT find a guild that YOU wouldn't determine as toxic, but that doesn't mean it wasn't. As an example, there are some YouTubers and Twitch streamers who swear that they aren't racist or sexist and their biggest supporters agree, yet all of their content mocks people of different races and women. Their supporters are fine with it and see these individuals as not toxic to the community, but that doesn't actually mean they aren't. It's a matter of perspective. A poster earlier mentioned how he didn't like how SE was starting to punish trolls and toxic people for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they say. But the reality is, more people found them to be toxic and inappropriate than people who thought he did nothing wrong. The same with WoW guilds. They aren't necessarily less toxic, but just more aligned with your opinions.
Coming from what you said and the fact that a lot of people say it as well, a big part of the ff14 players who complain about wow toxicity are the ones who played wow in the past and not the ones who never played wow. I know it's not the same thing as an MMO community, but that are other games that have more toxicity.
My point is not about people defending their game, but the ones that go too far. Like what happened with the death threats to content creators and all that. It just leaves a stain in the community. A small group makes the whole look bad.
The irony in you of all casuals to call people toxic...
That's why i see to myself not to be a douchebag towards new players, i try to help people in any way i can it helps to make it better eve if it is a little bit, all games have rotten apples in them, personally i chose to stay away from those people that is why i have a blacklist in FF14, a block button in WoW and so on, if we focus in those useless toxic ♥♥♥♥♥ mind as well not play any games online or not.
I will be a gamer as long as my health allows and i'm not letting toxic idiots ruin that.
Okay I’ll take the bait.
How exactly am I toxic? Do enlighten me because I’m actually pretty chill in game and spend more time interacting with my FC than anyone else on the server.
think he was replying to Murder, not you.
But, I could be wrong.....?
I really hope so but you never know in these forums lol
Source: Trust me dude.
The only toxic thing I see around here is you hijacking threads for the sake of calling everyone you dislike toxic. The irony :D
Irony indeed, seeing as you just necrobumped a thread just to attack me.
Also I find it funny you accuse me of "hijacking" a thread when this is only my second post in here.
