FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

30 day subscription to play a game i already bought at full price?
Hey guys, so I went to go log onto the game today when an error code popped up saying i needed to pay a monthly fee to play the game when I already bought the game through steam. Why is it making me pay a monthly subscription for a game I already own?

Just take advantage of the free login campaign to rush through the MSQ & catch up.

There's no free login campaign happening right now and we have no idea when the next one will be.
I believe the next one is usually during the fall and another one in spring. The previous 3 was during August ‘19 December ‘19 and April ‘20. Maybe it’ll comeback this month but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

ESO is free as well.

free to an extent. Plus that :angrypoop::dohpoop: Cash Shop :angrypoop::angrypoop:

I don't know what you mean, there's nothing in the shop for pay to win? You don't have to buy anything there...

I didnt say Pay 2 win, I said it was a ♥♥♥♥ shop.

Please try sataying within the context and not make up your own ♥♥♥♥.

ESO's cash shop is predatory and they sell loot boxes.

Already a fail right there, any game that adds lock boxes.
Keep in mind ESO Originally was a Subscription based game but failed and turned into a B2P with Optional Subscription.

ESO sells loot boxes? So is Guild Wars 2 the only MMORPG that's buy to play with a cash shop only selling cosmetics and items of convenience? (You only need to pay a small fee to unlock older content in GW2 if you didn't accept it when it launches, which I think is fair.)

The ESO Plus sub allows you to: not have to buy the DLC, unlimited storage for crafting materials, double bank space for your account, 10% increase to Gold & Experience acquisition, 10% increase to Crafting Inspiration & Trait Research rates, Double Furnishings & Collectibles space in player housing, exclusive ability to dye costumes...

It's P2W, but in this case it's SUB to win. At least the trial for XIV only locks some social features to slow down bots. :/

Yeah, they call them "Crown Crates".

I hate them.

yeaaaa.. GW2 has loot boxes too :D , they are called Black Lion Chests :), they are quite predatory , as the boxes can drop from in game monsters but the keys cost irl $, recently Arena Net got caught having pre cursers in the boxes, ( they are the first step to generation 1 legendaries, and can sell up to as much as close to 600g (prior to the boxes) and anyone who plays gw2 knows gold doesent just drop like other mmos you gotta work for it)

The thing is in GW2 you can get by just fine with very easily obtained loot. In GW2 the grindy loot is mostly about looks. It doesn't give a huge advantage.

At least it's moved on from when you had to pay for every minute :steammocking: that was expensive. Also don't you get another 30 days once you hit a certain level?
