Just hit level 30 as Arcanist. Can't find the Summoner job quest.

Title says it all. What might I be missing? My acting guild master doesn't give me any follow on quests. Do I also have to hit a certain level in the MSQ? I was hoping to finally be able to choose, but I don't know which way to turn. A Google result tells me I can be a summoner at level 30 after finishing two quests. One of which I just did, and other is listed as level 50 so I'm at a loss as to what to do.

I like the game. The graphics are excellent. Most of the players I've had any interaction with have been great, but things like this, just letting it end with no hint of what to do next is making me wonder whether to subscribe or not if it's like this to max level?

Should be given by your class trainer at level 30, check your armory chest, maybe you got the stone and just havent equipped it yet, should be in the bottom right tab

In addition to doing your level 30 guild quest, you also need to complete the MSQ "Sylph Management", which is level 20 or 21, in order to get the ability to unlock jobs.

The guildmaster will have your job quest after that. Arcanist actually gets two: Summoner and Scholar, which someone else in the guild will have a quest for.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I can see now I'm behind on the MSQ. I'm on a, I guess, "Extra XP" server and having never played FFXIV before I started out playing it like I have every other MMO I've played - taking almost every quest I ran across. So here I am a level 30 character and I'm at about level 19 in the MSQ. Thanks again for your help.
