Is FATE farming a viable way of leveling?
Or should i be doing something else?

it is a okay starting way to level, especially for like DPS, since the DPS have very long Queue times for Dungeons. Most will just do it to get the Challenge Log, (go to like 4-5 different zones, and do a fate in them and you get a weekly bonus exp and gil).

Later on though, their is very few and far between with people doing them, unless you are in a very populated Server that does it.

In most cases, people will be doing Deep Dungeons like the Palace of the Dead, a floor by floor dungeon that is randomized, if you are below level 60 and Heaven on High if you are below 70. Deep dungeons don't give gear but they give a high amount of exp for leveling. Most people though find it very monotonous and tiring.

If you are a Tank or a Healer, Highest level dungeons and the Daily Dungeon Roullettes are ussually the best way to level up, atleast my opinion on the info.

They're decent xp but don't compare to palace of the dead/hoh. In order of xp per hour, from highest to lowest:

DPS: Heaven-on-High, Palace of the Dead, Dungeons and FATEs while queueing, FATEs alone, Sidequests

Tank: Dungeons (almost instapop), Heaven-on-High, Palace of the Dead, FATEs alone

Healer: Dungeons + FATEs (heavily reduced wait times), Heaven-on-High, Palace of the Dead, FATEs alone

FATES are a good way to gain a little xp while waiting in a long queue as DPS for something that gives better xp like the roulettes or dungeons.
