Most of the story of ARR is being the world's errand boy anyway.
You would like a Spanish team to create a game that you would love to play but it is only in Spanish and when writing in a forum, why is it not in English and you answer a Spanish saying you learn Spanish which is the second most spoken language, Would you like to receive that type of answer?
If the game was in Spanish only, there's a 99.9% chance I wouldn't care. So your response is moot as I wouldn't bother asking for a translation. Nice try though.
Today you have steam, nor is it too much to import a game. But the problem here is that we all must have the same possibilities to enjoy a game in its entirety. But what pisses off the most is that the other games numbers in the saga if they come to us in our language, but not in the end, hopefully one day they translate it, we only ask for text in Spanish, the dubbing here does not matter, what matters is the text.
The most accepted but not the most spoken
Chinese is the most spoken and spanish the second
oh yes.. the third is english
but the game have japan, english, french and german
Your answer is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ piece of ♥♥♥♥
I can play FF14 without problems but I can't enjoy it if I do not have it in my native language
And i will not pay the full game and the monthly subscription if i can't enjoy it
I'm sorry if it bothers you
It doesn't bother me. I couldn't care less about spanish. Just because it's the most spoken doesn't mean it has a global impact. Think before you open your mouth.
Why don't you learn English instead?
Really what is this question? Racist?
I'm here to ask if the game gonna go to translate to spanish and you say that
You have a great problem
Think why are you here before you open your mouth
The community does not ask for dubbing, only translation, and it does not cost so much, it's more game like black desert online is already in Spanish and the future bless online will also translate it, and you will tell me now that bless has more impact than the Final Fantasy saga that everyone knows?.
No, it really is a lot of work. We're talking about multiple novels worth of written content so far that would need to be accurately translated, and then those same translators would need to remain on-staff to do so for all future content. This is why they haven't added any new languages since launch.
However, games that use the STS often have untranslated strings alongside localized text as new patches roll out, Team Fortress 2 and Dota coming to mind. I don't see something like it coming to FF14 without heavy curation, and even then you'd have the risk of story/feature leaks... furthermore, the STS hosts many games (even steam itself, including both the client and store)... Very unlikely they'd do something similar just for one game
Maybe someday additional language options will be implemented by SE themselves as profits continue to grow, even if it's only in the way of ingame text rather than dubs, but here's the thing...
Translating a videogame isn't just grabbing a bunch of sentences in english and just translating them one by one. You need to do extensive research on how characters should behave and talk... If there's a pun, a joke, a song, a poem, a speech, a catchphrase, a reference to something... you need to keep it in. Sometimes it's lost in translation and you need to come up with a new one, which can take a while for just some silly remark from alphinaud or whatever
There's really too much freaking text in the game to warrant a new team of spanish translators (for instance) to go through this entire process from scratch, since I don't think that many more people will buy the game in Spain and South America just because it's in spanish now
It's not an impossible task of course, but it would cost a lot of time and resources that would be better directed towards the game in the way of actual content
