Shadowbringers - Spoilers about Forgiven Obscenity
Is she the Au'Ra girl in the Eulsene? Found a theory online yesterday and some words from Alphinaud saying "he sent his favorite one" and the person who made this theory was legit to the point of making it almost believable. Does that stand?

Yes, that's a widely accepted theory. After we storm Eulmore and the fleeing of Vaulthry you are tasked to help the citizens regain their free will and if you look around carefully you can also see her former owner crying and mumbling something about how she was taken from him.
So yeah, it's a plausible explanation and the story pretty much builds up to this conclusion (notice how they talk about stuff like "people may enter the city but no one ever leaves" and such).

Thank you, Krila. Also, a sub-question since people will hate me if i make another post. Aymark is being unlocked after I finish ShB MSQ? Just did it, only post content left now. Was wondering because I've got phantasmagoria and allegory stuff and I know allegory is giving higher tier gear, just don't know which one to focus now, I have a mixed gear of augmented scaevan accs and DRK weathered ShB armor and weapon.

EDIT : Nvm, he is open now, had to finish the ShB, guess I will aim to farm Allegory, since it is stronger than Phantasmagoria, and get Phantasmagoria for glamour. lol

Well obviously you want to focus on the highest ilvl available at the moment, especially to get rid of the scaevan items you're still using cuz let's be honest that's not optimal at lvl 80.
You could of course get the older gear for glamour but personally I'd go for stuff that directly impacts my gameplay and performance.

I barely have 450 Allegories right now, it'll take me a couple of days to get the whole allegory gear and augment it, with the accessories, so I can tackle the next content to get the best gear in the game which is Eden, I think? Might be wrong on this one.

OK so there are 2 types of raids. 8 man and Alliance raids ( which is basicly 3x8 man groups playing together, so 24 man).
Currently The Copied Factory is the alliance raid available, with an ilvl entry of 435 and it rewards you with ilvl 460 gear.
The 8 man raids work differently, every tier is consisting of 4 fights and they reward you with tokens not actual gear but you can turn these items in for gear obviously.
Currently two tiers are active, Eden's gate and Eden's verse. (so a total of 8 fights plus the savage versions).
You will have to play through eden's gate to get to eden's verse, but you will be farming eden's verse, basicly you can take one token from every fight once a week. The reset happens every tuesday.
Eden's verse has a ilvl requirement of 455 so that's what you should aim for now.

Alright, so, when you say The Copied Factory rewards you with ilvl 460 gear, is this rng and I have to compete with other players' rolls to get the gear or I am getting it as a reward from a quest/via token exchange? If it is only rng loot based then I might as well stop playing and do something else. lol Not feeling to go through all that. In case there is no other way, can I still tackle the Eden's with Allegory gear?

You do have to roll for stuff, yeah. But I think you can't roll for something you already have or that's not for your job so technically people can't steal stuff from you that they don't actually need.
Sure, you can but it will take a while to get all that stuff from only that single source.

Forgiven Obscenity is unlikely the Au ra girl, alas. While it is a common theory, I doubt it was arranged for her to ascend and then she transformed and became his favorite THAT fast. More likely, IMO, Forgiven Obscenity is Vauthry's mother, hence why she's one of the big lines of defenses.

Remember how fast Tesleen turned? I think it’s possible. But yeah judging by the name it could be her mother too but then why did they went ahead and imply at least twice that it’s the singer girl?
Would be cool if we got an official confirmation haha

How did they imply it? The only evidence I ever see about it is, "Oh she has musical-themed attacks." That's... Literally it. It's far more likely she ended up meol.

It's not just the turning that makes it unlikely to me, it's turning, becoming Vauthry's right-hand sin eater, etc.

If I recall correctly he was quite fast to discard his old "paradise" (Eulmore) for the new on top the mountain... so I don't see it entirely impossible for him to fluctuate between his atm favourite eaters.
I've made some examples on that above.

Even if it is flat out a headcanon theory that someone made up, for now it can either be accepted as a possible fact or completely be neglected/denied by the fans. I think I might lean towards that possibility, albeit small.

He discarded his "paradise" sure but he's also had the same lion sin eater at his side since BEFORE BIRTH.

As well, the thing about the old man is... Uh. I mean they also just got the revelation that meol is sin eater and that's what Ascension was? The "people enter and never leave" was also about meol and sin eaters. THAT is what it was building up for. THAT reveal. Not "this random NPC chick becomes a big boss off screen with no indication unlike Tesleen who we know is Tesleen."
Player 2 Jun 1, 2020 @ 1:13pm
I'm gonna throw my hat into "the sin eater's not the au ra" party. The old man had pleanty of reasons to lament the loss of the girl who he cherished so much that he wanted to help.
Vaulthry has no reason to suddenly gain interest in the au ra considering there are tons of citizens he could've 'ascended' at any time, and that sin eater was probably by his side a lot longer than when we first met the girl.
RopeDrink Jun 1, 2020 @ 3:35pm
There is no reason to believe (and nothing to indicate) that Obscenity was the Au'ra. In fact, to think so would not be plausible.

The Obscenity and Lion are at his side as soon as you meet him and clearly his most trusted, one of which you see in the flashback as being brought in by Emmet to create Vauthry in the first place using its power, showing that at least one (if not both) have been around a very long time.

No hint, or even a thread of a hint, links any of this to the Au'Ra revelation - it just reinforces the horror tied to 'few enter but none leave' scene. You're led to believe she had a somewhat happy conclusion when doing that quest in early Eulmore, only to realize later that 'ascension' meant something completely different. She is likely in some other villagers stomach as meol, or just a standard sin-eater.
