And there really is no need to power-grind really until you get to Level 80 on atleast one class. The MSQ itself gives enough XP to take you all the way through on that class, and partially for a side-class. Only grind dungeons if you're in dearth of equipment.
So do your daily roulettes and then just get along with the MSQ as much as possible, really.
Fun Fact: Most of those filler quests actually give literally 0 XP, They're what is called 'post-expansion content' and exist at the end of every expansion. The current one has been getting them too.
The idea is that at the time, everyone is already at the level cap, so they didn't need any more XP via the MSQ because you needed to be at the then level cap to even do those quests.
But yeah. Best to do the roulettes and slog through the MSQ as much as possible.
Always unlock the sidequests for the dungeons and raids, btw. Those are a great way to both level and get many useful resources.
Currently in FFXIV I'm at lv37, I'm 12 levels above my MSQ. Everything feels so slow and I just want death lmao...they say the game gets better at 50 but bruh. As far as I know you can have all classes on one character but you're leveling them from scratch. The dungeons etc you unlock are still there kinda.
Like I honestly don't know. I did a couple of side quests in Gridania cause I was having alot of fun during my first 2 days but it looks like I made a big oopsie.
I'm probably still baised towards it since I was pampered by GW2 and this feels like it puts shackles on me. So yes. I feel you. Leveling is slow in this game, even when you rush it....it's meant to be enjoyed somehow...but I get bored of reading text and my brain tends to shut down cause none of the MSQ is voiced and when it is it's cringey af.
Hmm maybe GW2 wasnt as slow on my first playthrough as i remember because i was able to level like 7 more toons with just tomes, which is a feature i really like as i can try a lot of classes without spending weeks upon weeks levelling boring stuff i've done.
FFXIV does get better past lvl 50 and the story improves once you get into the expansions, i think im about close to finishing heavensward and its pretty interesting, i will probably work my way to lvl 80 but i honestly dont see how im going to level an alt to the same level without MSQ, i will for sure lose my sanity, and that's just level, doesnt include the gear grind, i'm gonna stick with it till atleast level 70.
Honestly it's other mechanics that really make me not enjoy it, the main factor is when you're backtracking your skills go down the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you are forced to use worse skills or incomplete combos, stat syncing is fine whatever but gimping even my skills is a tad far and the only way you feel you are getting more powerful is if you go around killing low level mobs in open world.
Good joke. Levelling is easy AF in this game. Also, why the hell do you need to reach 80 as fast as posible? You won't reach an expansion any faster just by levelling up
Tbh I never needed to level an alt on gw2 again for years. The only reason why I'm not playing GW2 rn is because I've done everything I wanted to, crafted all the legendaries I wanted, fashion game was on point. I'll never quit that game, i'll keep returning to it because I've invested so much time into it.
My friend says story gets better at 50.
I share the same dismay at the skills being sync'd it's kinda unintuitive tbh....I heard so many good things about the game but so far it's just ok. Chat is so quiet, you don't see people derping in map chat like you would on GW2 LA. EU is separated into weird data centers and some servers have 'unofficial' language etc....my friend and I joined moogle cause his friend was on moogle but lo and behold....french in chat everytime I see it. Nothing feels more alienating.
I can nitpick but eh...I'll see how it goes. As for leveling alts it seems that fates and roulette is your best option along with leves? which is funny considering queue times.
Lol someone likes casual gaming and give you everything, hold your hands games.
BDO is a complete joke, are you serious?
Do I .....do I need to do the BDO thing again.
Somebody(many, many people) made videos on BDO and even the positive videos paints it negatively.
Case in point why I'll never play BDO again or support that garbage.

Please stop bringing garbage into these threads.
with that bonus it's not hard to get from 1 to 50 getting at least one level up per dungeon, especially if you have rested XP.
you're waiting 20-30 minutes for a dungeon? Have you tried playing a tank or healer? Or being on a more popular server, queueing for a more popular dungeon etc. (doesn't have to be a low level one, maybe the one one step down is popular (for example, very few people queue for Aurum vale)
The reason there are so many DPS players has more to do with the MUCH higher number of DPS jobs in the game, though some of it is because people aren't confident tanking/healing (even then, up to 60 I've had absolutely no problem healing in dungeons, even if I ♥♥♥♥ up it's all fine, let's try again, never had anyone flame me for it)
