To people on the ruby carbuncle mount

Having fun on your new mount? feels good getting fleeced and show of you spent money on the game? I hope you enjoy riding it and take pride in that you ruin the game for proper players who actually want to earn stuff by playing the game.

Square Enix seems more interested in adding stuff to the cash shop rather than update the actual game. Must be pretty nice to have a customerbase that are excited about getting fleeced and proceeds to defend you while you empty their wallets.

Watch the people this applies to either:

- Say this is a troll post

- Say all the greedy monetization is optional therefore its okay

- Say we have to support the poor devs because buying the game/expansions and paying a sub is somehow not enough

never said they arent working on the game at all, just wanted to point out that they update the cash shop way more than they update the game. In the past month they have added 2 exclusive looking mounts to the cash shop and that is absolutely ridicoulus. This game shouldnt even have a cash shop in the first place. This is not a free 2 play game.

I can see what you're pointing out happening in other games (cough cough World of Warcraft) but not this one. Theres loads of new content in the game every time a major patch comes out, and especially in this expansion, when you see the amount of cool stuff they add it always feels like the wait was worth it. Yes, they are adding more and more store stuff because it sells, but it sure as hell didn't slow development down, or made them stop giving cool stuff to earn ingame.

Seriously, when I read your post I couldn't help but think you were talking about WoW, not this game. Don't know if you played it, but they literally give players mostly reskinned ingame mounts and keep the really cool ones in the cash shop only. FFXIV is nowhere close to that yet.

I absolutely agree that 14 got a way more non-intrusive and tame cash shop, but i feel like 14 is moving more and more into the "wow territory" in terms of adding more exclusive and unique looking cosmetics in the cash shop, and if you look of the actual quantity of items available wows shop is tiny compared to 14's shop despite being a 10 year older game.

The carbuncle mounts should have been drops from ultimate fights or something. The cool stuff should be locked by difficult content or achievements, not your credit card.

Point being that everything, cosmetics or not should be unlocked through gameplay when the game retains a sub. But thinking that is apparently being entitled.

thats exactly right why spend resources on hard work making actual content for the game when you can just spend a tiny fraction of those resources to put crap in the shop and rake in huge cash at the same time.

Its just astonishing that i get told to shut up, stop being butthurt and troll, and just play something else for calling this greedy bullsh!t out. Why people endorce paying for virtual items in a game they are already paying to play, rather than do something fun or meaningful in the game to unlock it is just unfathomable to me.

Why do you care what people spend their money on? you seem to be getting really worked up over how joe blow spends his or her money.

This is just a simple. "I want it to be free so I can get it myself." The mount is a want, not a need. I myself find it a little funny you're not on the "But the boosts and the easy progression swiping your credit card." But the mount itself, when the game has a ton of mounts you can earn without paying.

Is it cheating other players experiences by helping them progress or do better at the game? No. Is it purely cosmetic? Yes. I swear you've made a post about this before, I just don't know if it's towards FFXIV or something else...It just has to be a troll post, because surely you're not posting out of...jealousy.
