FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Stormblood classes
I still have post Heavensward quests to do. Can you start the new classes right away? Or roll a new char as a Samuri or Red Mage?

Actually, you don't need to have done anything other than locate the class trainer. Assuming you have the expansion ofcourse.

Still have to be level 50 at least.

I'm lvl 60 but just gearing up and trying to get my armor lvl to 180 for a dungeon. Not sure I can do it before Storm blood early access

Don't worry about it, you'll get there sooner or later

If the class trainers are in the new areas brought by stormblood then you will have to complete the main scenario quests to get to the new areas.

You wouldn't have been able to get to foundation to get Machinist and Dark Knight etc if you didn't complete the ARR story.

The Forgotten Knight in Foundation has the ilvl 200 gear for Centurio seals.

Just do some pvp for free 235 ilvl garo gear and tomes. It takes maybe 5-6 hours to cover full ilvl 235+ and you have to reach 230 in order to complete main quest anyway.

They have specifically stated the trainers for Red Mage and Saumrai will be in ARR areas.

No need to get to the expansion areas to access them.

Speaking of class trainer locations: Does anyone know precisely where the samurai and red mage trainers are going to be?

I'd guess that samurai will be around Revenant Toll / The Rising Stones, because of a certain NPC we meet during the story... Who is awesome.

But I'd like to know where to find the red mage trainer, and I haven't had luck information gathering through google. Will it be stated in the patch notes?
On the gamefaqs forums they're already saying the RDM quest is in Uldah.

Well, considering Samurai shares monk gear, most likely will be in Uldah, and Red Mage I believe shares caster gear as black mage, so there as well, but not confirmed. We'll have to find out for ourselves once it launches. I do know you need at least a level 50 class and the expansion to unlock them.
patch notes say they're both unlocked in uldah

I wouldn't worry about that. All the old tomes are being removed and you can convert them to Poetics to snag lvl 50 and lvl 60 i230 gears respectively. No need to grind em out. If you're already 60 you should have a ton of Poetics laying around like most of us.

Unless you spent them to get sam and rdm ironworks gear. ;P
