South East Asia needs help

Hello there I'm livin in Malaysia which is in SEA region and I really wish to play and buy this game on Steam. But sadly I couldn't access to the store page. Is there any way on how to get access to this game? Is it safe for me to use VPN to buy and play this game?

They do not sell this game in your region on steam. Not entierly sure as to why but they dont.
You can buy the retail version locally from what I have seen in older post.
That version is an import of the Australian version which is EU region.

You can buy it directly off Squarenix website or amazon and they will email you a gamecode(make sure its digital version)
No need for a VPN. Only the Chinese and Korean version are region locked.
Once you login you can play on JP, EU or NA servers.

I AFK alot but yeah I love this game.
Unless someone gifts you the steamversion via steamgifts then you might be able to add it via steam.
I am unsure though as I cant confirm this works.

It is always fun. I dont have on steam but i play it on retail version. The game have so many things to do that it will keep you hooked for hours.

On days when i dont have work, i would play it until i cant keep my eyes open. (I cant even count how many times i fell asleep in dungeons because i was so tired lol)

A few thing you should know before getting the game.

1) it is subscription based games. You will have to pay a monthly price to continue playing after trial

2)a single character can do everything. You wont have to restart if u dont like a job. Just switch it in game

3)Dont be socially isolated. One of the beauty of this game's community is that the people are very social.

Found a physical retail version over here! Ahh, couldn't wait to get it delivered! Thanks for the replied help guys. :)
Ohh, and 1 more thing, the subscription is based on in-game time right? Not in-calendar time?

Am from southeast asia as well, bought the game online after the trial on the website few days ago. should work for you as well.

Most southeast asia player are on tonberry server, including malaysian just for your info

nope, I don't play it on steam. I play it directly from their client with a square enix username and password

Retail version is cheaper than on steam.
