Voice Acting Not Working

Okay so, I know this game is supposed to have voice acting in specific cutscenes, including the opening movie and first in game cutscene after character creation. But for some reason, it's just not working on mine. I've fiddled with the system settings, but nothing is getting it to work. What is going on, and how can I fix it?

The first in-game cutscene, where you're on the carriage/boat heading towards your starting city?

Yeah, that one doesn't have voice acting.

The Dream Sequence before you wake up on the carriage/boat has a small bit of voice acting from Hydaelyn, and there's a voice acted narration introducing the starting city. Even after that, all MSQ cutscenes that are supposed to have voice acting, like the ones where you first meet members of the Scions, encounter Hydaelyn, etc.., in all cases the voice acting isn't working for mine. It's really frustrating knowing I can't hear the voices I know are supposed to be there!

Try reinstalling sound card / headset drivers.
Buddy had a similar problem, turned out his headset drivers was messing and after a reinstall it solved the voice issue.

Voice "Acting"? In ARR? Surely you jest.

Major cutscenes tend to have voice acting but most cutscenes don't

Another thing you can try is to change the Source/Origin of the sound from near Character to near camera... Or if you have some kind of surround sound system, change the settings.

I have absolutly no Voices with the Sound setting is use for watching movies, but it works fine with the setting I use for gaming.^^

Do you hear sound in other situations. Such as playing streaming video. Did you verify your sound is actually functional.

What sound setting is your sound slapped on? Stereo or surround 5.1? If it is on surround try using stereo.

I fixed this by setting my listening position in game all the way to the left (Camera). This allowed my to leave DTX on and 7.1 in settings for my Game DAC

Yeah you should hear Hydelean say , "Hear, Think, Feel" out loud.
