Is there a particular class path to Gunbreaker
The new class that will be introduced in Shadowbringers. I have a Summoner, Scholar, and a Red Mage.

There is no class paths.

No, I’m sure it will be a class of its own. You would just need a character at lv 60 to be able to pick GB I believe.

So every class will be qualified to be a Gunbreaker. Wont that be bad having everyone the same class.

Was worse when SB's 2 new jobs were both DPS.

You do know you can have every class and job on a single character, right?

I realize that but what I mean is since that will be the new class everybody will be playing it at the same time after shadowbringers is released. They should have released at least 2 new classes I think. Just an observation.

For example Red Mage was tied to Mage type classes and Samuri to DPS classes ( Monk, Dragoon, Ninjja)

I mean it does say JOBS, so there could be more than just the gunbreaker.

People are speculating that there's another class (a healer, maybe) in the works for ShB that'll be announced closer to release. We're looking at it maybe being Dancer.

That's a confusing way of putting it, but I take it you mean damage type? Yes, RDM was in the Ranged (Magical) Damage archetype and Samurai was in the Melee (Physical) Damage archetype. Unless you meant that you had to have a BLM/SMN to play a RDM or a MNK/DRG/NIN to play SAM, in which case, that's untrue.

Though, if all you're worried about is Gunbreaker being released and everyone playing Gunbreaker, therefore leaving no room in the queue for other classes... I wouldn't worry. There'll be people who'll want to get their old main to level 80 before touching the other classes, so I'm sure that, while there'll be more tanks in queue, nothing will REALLY change.

Red Mage is a dps as well just a magic caster dps. Also Gunbreaker has already been announced as a tank job. Highly likely it will share gear with current tanks Paladin, Warrior and Dark Knight. Also it has been stated since Heavensward that no new jobs will have a "class" base. Yoshi P actually wants to get rid of the "class" as it is useless in the game now. Role Action Skills completely made "classes" obsolete.

Calm down guys... GB is a Tank. Don't we usualy wait for one to join? XD
And I promise i'll not play it right away... ^^

And how many of the new Classes will be limited Classes? Or do we get those just as normal patches inbetween?

I don't mind get ing new anything, but a new Non-combat-class would be nice... I found all the Plants, Fisch and Ores form ARR, HW ans most of SB... ans I love collecting things XD

Maybe we could get...hm...IDK ^^'

They are jobs, and 0. There are no planned limited jobs at the moment. The original classes upgrade to jobs, but the 3.0 and later jobs just need a soul stone from a quest. They kinda threw that whole concept out the window.

There is at least one more DoW related job, they have made 0 announcements on the DoL and DoH jobs. They really haven't fleshed it out, it's a missed opportunity.

Yes, everyone might switch the Gunblade, or one of the the other jobs being announced. But most likely, only people who already main a tank will switch to that particular job, it's unlikely a DPS will switch roles to tank just to use the Gunbreaker. One of the other unannounced jobs might be DPS or Healer, I would assume healer, as they put in multiple DPS in Bloodstorm.

Job requirements were basically finished in 3.0. Everything is essentially just a job, except the Arcanist, it's the only class that's unique from the job.

People who don't like / don't want to tank will not be overly tempted to swap just for the sake of it -- but having said that, FFXIV is a game where every player can unlock/play whatever classes suit their fancy, and the vast majority likely already play classes in all three roles (such as myself - I'm a healer main but I tank/damage regularly).

I will most definitely try out Gunblade, but as a Healer main I'll be more curious as to how they'll address the Healer issues. Meanwhile, Joe Soap who only likes to DPS isn't going to see Gunblade and magically try to stomach tanking -- and with new tanks come new memes and flames from people who automatically assume every Joe Soap is a clueless non-tank just jumping on the 'new' bandwagon.

Going to be as much fun as it is annoying (in both directions).

There's healer issues?

I know the loud minority always shout about WHM but WHM is pretty fine as it stands, it's just not as well desired because it doesn't have dps buffing utility like the other two.

Admitedly, Lillies are pretty weird right now since healing is how much you can get away without actually using up your GCD's for healing, which is the only way to build them up in the first place. (as in Cure/CureII)
