FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Most fun class to play?
I'm interested in this game and was wondering from experienced players, what is your most fun class and why?

Personally I like big cool looking spells and or visceral combat abilities. When I kill monsters I want to feel satisfied in how awesome it looks.

Favorite Tank: Paladin - I love the way they look, plus they're the "easy" tank. Great for learning how to tank with. Lots of fun to play. This is my current main since I started tanking this last patch full time.

Favorite Healer: Scholar - Has a fairy pet and a really great skill set. High skill ceiling compared to WHM and AST imo. A really good SCH can pull off some crazy stuff.

Favorite DPS: Red Mage - I don't main DPS jobs so when I play a DPS job I want something easy to use that I don't need to remember an off the wall DPS rotation to be any good at the job. Red Mage fits this bill and then some. Plus it looks great while doing it!

Tank:
1.Paladin: High survivability, lots of utility (making the pala a great off-tank).
2.Dark Knight: Extremely fun to play but needs lots of practice. Also needs lots of work (weaving "Dark Arts" and managing resources)

Heal:
Astrologian: Has fun mechanics (buffing the party with drawn cards. But you need some practice.

DPS:
Probably BLM: Makes lots of boom but you really can screw up your rotation if you don't mind the timers (Fire/Ice-stance)
Back in ARR I played bard and loved it. Bard has changed alot, though and I haven't played him alot with my new main char.

I love magic dps because :

The black mage can throw nova and iceberg at foe
The summoner got the ghost of a freaking world destroyer dragon who puke kamehameha
The red mage do a jojo pose for every spell

Depending on your taste....FF is NOT WoW and if there's anything that FF is good in it's cinematics and it shows. As such all classes get flashy effects once they get to a higher level: From the Black Mages's Foul (Looks like a bright purple implosion) to the Warriors combo's (looks like he's just enjoying himself a little too much) to stuff like barrier spells cast by mages which look like giant magical bubbles and that's skipping over stuff others have already said. Same goes for stuff like Limit Breaks that truly make the game's combat shine.
So if you're worried about the game looking drab like WoW (because face it....most of even the strongest abilities in WoW just go *poof*) then FF will give you a nice show.

P.s. That's not ragging on WoW guys...I'm a wow vet of over 7 years but if I compare combat GFX in both FF and WoW then FF wins by a landslide.

Fun is subjective.

Anyways, I level BLM first and had a blast with that. Currently leveling my MNK, level 68, and I’m liking it as well. I might pick up MCH or RDM next. Idk about the RDM though, it seems confusing. Eh I can figure it out.

this,

I know it may sound stupid but I have more fun with the DoL/DoH classes than any of the DoW/DoM ones.
