About mounts ingame and cash shop...

Hi there,
i tried to find answers about it, but typing "mounts" in forums give me like 77 pages to explore...

Here is my question.
I am a big fan of collecting mounts and pets (it's not so original i guess...) BUT i don't like to pay for it so much. This is not a money issue : i think you have to deserve a mount, in some way. As we say in France, the trip is better to the arrival.

Anyway, the station Moog is full of crazy mounts. I admit it.
So : can i earn cool mounts ingame by myself or do i have to ride a chocobo forever if i don't use my credit card ?

While many of the Mogstation mounts are quite awesome (imo). Many are actually form in game season and promotional events, meaning they were at one point or another available in game,but if we forget about them there are dozens of cool mounts earned through various story and side quest related activities and achievements.

The chair is so great, and other stuff too. That mean you earn it with quests right ?
Did u buy some cash shop special mounts ?

You cannot earn the mounts displayed in the cash shop anymore, however there actually is a flying chair mount that is craftable by carpenters, just check the marketboard it should be around 500-800k gil.

Also most of the mounts ingame are earned by farming different duties hours on end, or doing limited fates such as Ixion. The easiest obtainable mounts in my opinion are the 'Achievement Certification' ones, needing 600 achievement points for 1 mount that can be exchanged in Gridania and the ponies done by farming the ARR extreme trials. There are also mounts you unlock by processing the story.

You can check out the mount list on the wiki and see which mount you're willing to farm for.

Not really, gil is basically useless in the game. You'll probably have well over 500k in a couple days.

Most of the best looking mounts are locked behind PvP participation. Example: The Construct VII mount. Needs 100 wins on the new frontlines map. Or the Avenger Gorilla mounts. Need 100 Rival Wings wins which nobody is playing right now excepting a few hours a day on the weekends.

There are plenty of neat mounts you can earn in-game. The primal mounts come to mind first because I have a particular fondness for the Kamuy mounts from Stormblood, but you will also get a few simply from doing the MSQ. Most of the beast tribes have a mount at the highest reputation levels. You can get a few through achievements as well.

The cash shop mounts are kind of neat, but there are plenty within the game you can earn.
