The closest you will find are Role Skills now, which unlock as you level any class in that role and are unlocked for all other classes of that role from then on.
The last vestiges, from the DoH/DoL classes, have been removed at last so you no longer need to level all classes to get all skills.
old class mechanic, lvling certain classes allows you to use certain cross-class skills from that tree for other classes.
(i.e: Raging Strikes from archer could be used for other DPS classes if learned)
edit: honestly most of us don't even know what the OP is talking about it seems so I might be wrong
And this system is like 100x better... Like seriously, needing to go and level THM to do well as a healer (due to swiftcast) irked me... Sure, you got a lot more customization that way... but it was irrelevant when there was basically one go-to that was pretty much objectively better.
I really didn't want to take time out of my progressing through the normal stuff in the game, but I realized i'd seriously need swiftcast, so I had to put everything else I was doing on hold to go get it. It was really annoying.
What sucked was the whole process of leveling your secondary, which might meant leveling a THIRD class if you were unlucky enough to not have a class combo that was viable inverted. DRK, RDM, and THF were the three I had to level xD
