But something has to be said, skill and knowledge of random players from df/pf is terrible bad. Doing anything bigger than extreme with randoms is just desperation [/quote]
Oh I get that and my point was those things can be discussed without using derogatory terms is all.
I think players should know their limits as in could they and do they want to put in the time and effort to master the most difficult content of this game and if the answer is no for whatever reason it may be then just find other things to do ( and there are plenty of other content to have fun with, not everyone is made to do the extreme savage stuff in games anyway).
I also think if someone hasn't done that stuff before and wants to try it and find out if it's something they want to learn and all they should do that without feeling like they have to walk in on it knowing everything and being expert right off. That said not sure they can do that other then joining the random groups to check it out.
I am sure statics are set up so those that have them don't have to worry about that and those seeking them out hopefully can find a group for that content.
Every content should have some learning room but that said I get the frustrations of random group play for such content because there you are thrown in with a lot of players and if it's anything like other raid content you don't really have time to go over things or discuss what is going on and you don't have the advantage of discord to communicate where a set group may have these things in place.
I know that can help a lot to have a regular group that can actually talk so there is real time communication going on.
is it really that hard to tell if somone DPS isn't up to par?
eh idk, kicking after a wipe I'm all for it (even more so if its end game Savage & EX content)
kicking them before it even starts because the logs says their DPS is low...thats where I get mixed feelings about parsing
great break down and your right, my post sort of made us go off topic lol. o/
Maybe I'm just unlucky, but lately I've had some BAD runs of a lot of stuff in DF. I'm totally willing to teach people, but there seems to be a lot of people who don't want to learn, read chat, or get better at all.
Last night I was doing S3 for parts in DF and our Paladin in Shield Oath was losing aggro to a DPS stance Warrior. We wiped and the two tanks started yelling at each other until the Warrior refused to tank with "this trash".
Getting a pre-made group for stuff-- especially savage and extreme-- is about 100x easier.
this, so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this...so much fustration would go by if people followed this rule
Alex Savage was not made for randos
We ask if you NEED preset groups, simply due to not really liking set teams we have to be around constantly, Find it doesn't go well. It is not so much about our own skill, but having to be around the same people with really no interaction outside the game itself. Gets, stagnet really. Incase it was a matter of skill, as to why we prefer to ask if non-premade groups were a possibility.
haha yah but that's how discussion boards go I guess. well pretty much anything other then those savage and guess extreme ( not sure if all apply) guess most players would say find some kind of regular group that does it because of the difficulties. you always have the option to que for any dungeon/raid but because of those made to be a great challenge it's probably why players recommend you find a group you can do these with that meet on a regular basis together so each player understands their role, the mechanics of the instance and so on.
that said all the other types of instances you can make your own party and que, fill in what is needed if you don't have a full party and/or just que using the duty que for random groups.
So yes it's possible to do all things with random groups however as to the savage/extreme stuff mentioned seems that wouldn't be the best choice for those.
