but long story short its tab targeting
if youre looking for a game with combat like wildstar or tera this isn't it
"Final Fantasy XIV, for example, had a tab-targeting system that works very well because the extra space and time is meant to give you more opportunities to make tactical decisions.
It’s not just about what you do, but when you’re doing it and what else is going on around you at the time.
Healing party members, debuffing a boss, raising party members who drop, dealing damage, using cooldowns while tanking – they all require you to think about how this action will impact prior actions and what you need to do next.
That tactical interplay is vital to the structure of the game, and a more active system would remove those decisions and make the game weaker on a whole."

Yeah. It's not like action-combat games aren't 'look at the mob while pressing 100 skill buttons'. Take it from me as a TERA-Lancer enthusiast - there are less buttons here than there, and no real difference other than being more single-target orientated.
Maybe, there is a free trial I would suggest you try before signing off the game for good. I know I also didn't think I would like the game until I tried it because I also prefer action games. But honestly it clicked so much with me and felt so much like an action old-school Final Fantasy game. Which sounds weird...but best way I can describe it, and I have loved the game ever since.
Story isn't half bad once it actually gets going as well.
this what they say The Software Token can only be used once you have purchased FINAL FANTASY XI or FINAL FANTASY XIV and entered the registration code enclosed with either game.
