"Our baseless complaints are falling on deaf ears, clearly the person we're talking to must be trolling or a fanboy."
Typical.
PVP is endgame in DCUO the same way PVP is endgame in this, in that I've only played about 20 minutes of it in both. Whoever told you DCUO's endgame was PVP was lying to your face.
Also, yes, that is checkmate, specifically because you chose to try and mock me over something in my games list rather than defend your ideas.
dont waste your time with him. its like talking to a zealot. EDIT : see the way beyond stupid response below.... says all. just ignore him.
to answer your question :
the reason this mmo allows no addons is sadly quite simple :
its the console limitations. addons work on pc only mmos as all pc only mmos have them to some degree (some have more than others). and since they dont want console players to be at a disadvantage because they cannot access addons by default they dont allow them in generel. its sad but the console is holding the game back in certain areas due to its limitations. but money matters more to them and consoles are more popular in japan than in the west.
as for the tc : i wouldnt call it the worst tbh. its certainly not creative yeah but that was to be expected given its yoshi we are dealing with here. but eurekas major flaw is the rewards. relic has never been this useless in its enitre history of existence. the armors ilvl are a joke at this point in time and definitly not worth grinding for. the fact they made them this low shows that there is no plan to make relic reach comparable ilvl to upgraded tome stuff in 4.3 either. so eureka is imo just a giant waste of time. its grind without reason which imo is the most stupid grind you can add to an mmo.
Oh yes, that's why online games ban people for using third-party programs. You nailed, it, you cracked the code. Cheating, hacking? Psh, no, it's gotta be because of console players!
I believe that what FFXIV does good is story and raids. Unfortunately the best story is locked away at heavensward and stormblood. I did say that developers should shorten and re-do the story in the early levels, but unfortunately their approach was to offer a money potion to just skip a lot of it. I don't think that skipping is a good solution, especially not when they introduced the solution just to make money off it.
I like Savage raiding (though no longer have time for it, or can do it), because of the difficulty that they're at, because of the creative strategies that you can make when playing with friends and because you only need 8 people, making it one of the smallest hard raids in any MMO. Though if they made 4 man savage dungeons as alternative content, I would probably be all over that instead. Simply put organizing large amounts of people is a nightmare, but difficult co-operative play is fun.
Allowing 3rd party programs makes running such things as wall hacks and bots fairly easy. Not that we don't get that now, we would simply get more of it. However, no matter how friendly they're trying to be to people in game, I think the best solution would be an inbuilt parser, even if a vague or a personal one. If after every dungeon the player was greeted with a screen telling them "you did this much healing, this much damage, this much damage mitigation, here's where you stand compared to other players that did this content on the same class", I think far more players would love to shape up. However it is a bit of a "catering" game by being afraid to hurt their players feelings. It is not entirely carebear though, as you can kick someone with low DPS on the basis of "different gameplay goals".
I would not want this game to be driven by open world guild based PvP. There is a market for that, however I would not want them to reshape existing games to suit that direction. Sometimes we all want a bit of competitive PvP environment. Sometimes we just want a good themepark PVE focused MMO. FFXIV is the latter. If every MMO was the former, I believe we would greatly lack variety and choice.
You know you don't have to play the game right or even touch the content? If you're that bored enough to talk ♥♥♥♥ on something, go play another MMO. I switch between this and WoW and glad I do. You should probably do something about your salt.
WoW does.
WoW openly welcomes addons, be they parsers, (because the players aren't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that can't handle being told their dps sucks) UI addons, roleplay addons, boss databases, etc.
Then go play WoW.
It reminds me of when I used to play Guild Wars 2 and they had an event train like the NM one that runs in these. I had fun talking to people while we ran them.
From what I'm hearing, the longer you stick with it, the better it gets. It's just that I don't want to start it much less stick with it.
That's a really dumb arguement though. Why would you disregard things that make something better and say "just go play that instead lol"
pssssst, start it ;)
