so in a nutshell : Must complete Gilding the Bilious
Must complete Company Hunting Log Rank 2
It's been a while for me since I got that so I looked up since I do remember a quest I needed.
that link refers to my GC but if your with one of the others my guess is you need the npc that corresponds with your GC for the quest.
Then there's Company Leves, FATE's, Log, Provisions and other means as well. If Seals are all you're after (and you don't wish to desynth dropped items), then chuck them in for free seals. You'll generate them passively via other activities while levelling.
If you're looking towards promotion itself, then yes, you'll need to focus on the Grand Company Hunting Log for the most part.
oh yes, true and funny I see their title for post but reading it I just ended up pointing the way to how to get promoted.
I always wondered why others pass on even lower level stuff because for me it's not throw away gear but gc seals and even the ones that don't give huge amounts can add up especially if you spend your seals a lot on ventures and prisms of which I do.
there some duties that I believe give seals too if you want to add that to the bunch and eventually your done with the hunt log but all the ways mentioned are good ways to get gc seals.
Granted, you could still run FATEs, but unless you're in a party running a train, it'll be slow going.
You could also craft your way for seals, as you can always see, via Timers, what your GC wants in terms of crafting (crafter XP + GC seals).
Hell, you could gather your way for seals, which nets you gatherer XP as well.
Or...you could do S-/A-ranked hunts, but that's as slow as doing FATEs by yourself, even with a hunt linkshell.
Still, that's all the ways one could go about amassing GC seals.
No worries - I tried to cover both aspects just in-case (the NPC actually explains promotion in-game anyway).
Roulettes provide seals by themselves (daily bonus), so my most common method at max-level is just to do my dungeons and cough up all the drops I get. Many other options (of all levels) have already been mentioned.
Good luck!
