When you uninstall FFXIV while you're not playing it

Then reinstall the game and all of your presets are gone and you forgot what the hell you were doing!

I have small SSDs. But yes, I'll try to keep it installed next time. What a pain!

I'm sure it'll all come back to me in a week or two.

Yeah, I'm sure I could have backed up everything if I bothered, I guess I just didn't think about it and assumed the servers would retain most of that info (as opposed to none). Pretty sure I spent more than an hour getting that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HUD right, and now it's gone, along with all the system settings, keybinds, loadouts, everything. Argh! Oh well.

You can backup your config via the launcher. Pretty sure certain other things can be backed up (such as HUD layout etc, though maybe not button positions). I recall an instance where I had to reinstall the game and had my HUD layout and keybinds, but buttons were in different places for X or Y reason.

Think the hud layout and macros are saved in the launcher back up

Yeah, in Config there's a backup tool for the interface, good to know.
