IIRC it's a side quest in the Azim Steppe somewhere? I still haven't bothered to do it myself.

You get it after a level 69 story quest in the last zone, so yeah, pretty late.

Also they didn't make it a cash shop item because it's edgy as ♥♥♥♥ and SE didn't want to charge players who want to look cringy.

Thancred is one of the least edgy characters in the game, both in looks and in his actions.

He's one of the best characters in the game because he displays actual, tangible character development after Minfilia is gone. You can tell how he changes in demeanor, and that he's "grown up" in a way.

Even when Minfilia was still around, he wasn't edgy. He was just a charming guy. Now he's more serious and intense but edgy is hardly what I'd call him, or his appearance.

Look at DRK lvl 60/70 gear if you want edgy appearance, and look at Sidurgu if you want an edgy character. Not that I'm saying edge is bad, I'm just saying that it exists in forms in this game, and none of it is done in a bad or cringey manner. There's no Shadow The Hedgehog levels of cringe in the edge that is presented in this game. So take your ignorance elsewhere.

The Scion Rogue's Bandana is a reward from a level 69 MSQ. There's another one you can get from a level 69 sidequest in Rhalgr's Reach but that one is more like 2B's blindfold.
