why are there so many main quests x.x

most of them are just running back and forth but I am stuck on the level 50 ones to get into the heavensward zones, why did they make so many!? I have hit level 56 and I am unable to advance my second job skills because I am stuck behind this massive quest wall!

the stuff imbetween should be optional, and the quest rewards aren't even that great, and so far they are lame, so far this is how 90% of them go: pick up quest, go talk to person, finish quest OR go talk to other person, finish quest or maybe kill something, talk to person again, finish quest.
most of them are non combat fetch quests that just has you burning gil to warp to point B to get the thinger only to go back to point A again and find out you now have to go to point C and get yet another thinger.

thats how this mmo is, its mainly story based aka quests if you don't like it find another one

I'm loving how story based this mmo is and really am enjoying leveling up with the story as opposed to grinding dungeons or unrelated quests.

I'm trying to get through the ARR quests so I can do that limited time event with the black car I see people doing, what exactly is the reward for doing that?

Clothes/Hair/Car Mount from prince Noctis. The clothes awarded from his quests during the event and his hair style, car, and Triple Triad Card are bought with MGP coins at Gold Saucer.

2.X was pretty much the starting ground of the FFXIV series of 3 months Progress. After learning their mistakes from the 2.X series they have shortned, condensed and tried to make it less back and forth it in Later Expansions,

Everything that happens in 2.X becomes the Foundation and building blocks of what will happen in Heavensward and Stormblood. While being a bit too back and forth, everything has it own purpose, and develops the world. Everything you learn from 2.X will play a part in all the expansions up to date.

If you really not into Theory, Lore and Story, then 2.X will be just a talk to this person go to this person thing and you can buy the Story Skip in Mogstation.

So many MSQ ? Uhm you are playing a story that devoloped for 3 years in how many weeks/months? Keep in mind that you are playing 3 years worth of story and sidcontent ^^

This. I had heard about the pre-heavensward slog, but I was not prepared. At first I thought, this isn't so bad. Then I thought, ugh ok this is pretty tedious. Then I thought, this is terrible, it never ends, why won't it ever end? Then I thought... HOLY CRAP WHAT A FINALE!

ARR has a lot of pacing issues. Like, a LOT. Thankfully the expansions improved on that by a lot.

Heavensward was nice, but now im playing Stormblood and its boring as hell. Im really dissapointed.

I don't like this design choice that you have to do a thousand quests in order to unlock more dungeons. I don't really care about the story and force myself through it just so I can unlock more dungeons that I can play with my friends. And I'm NOT buying a "skip story potion" for 20 bucks. I already paid for all DLC, the base game, AND I pay monthly.

To make things worse, 90% of all quests are like "go to place A, they'll send you to place B and C, then return to place A". Your walking speed is limited, you can't always sprint... it's clear why everything takes so long in a game where you have to pay for the time you play...

There's been around 2 years between AR & HW so there's a lot of quest added.
Same thing between HW & SB and now SB to ShB we've been having several quest during the big updates.

I do aggree that the AR ones are the worst though, many fetch quests as well you're pretty much the errand boy.

I know this was ment for the other dude but I played this awhile back and got to level 50 I know most of the story, right now I am in hevensward and most of the story quests have NOTHING TO DO WITH STORY, 40 of them are just padding of "GO GIVE THIS LADY A BOTTLE OF WHINE! OH SHE LIKED IT NOW GIVE IT TO THIS GUY!" like really.....WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!
