No I'm serious, they actually look kinda cool in that armor set and the idea that this large monster is punting a potato around and he still gets up is kinda badass.
Not to mention if we go by lore and canon, Lalafells are surprisingly strong (lvl 50 goldsmith quest has a lalafell head butt a full plate armored knight and knock him on his ass, or that most of the Paladins you see in Ul Dah are Lalafells).
Ant is very strong for his size. And lalafel will be as strong as ordinary human midget.
Seriously speaking, however, I would never play as any of these races. I can't take Asura or Lalafel serious. Short, child-like races with weird proportions. Armor just doesn't look good on them, imo. People do have their tastes.. I guess.
As do I, I prefer humanoid characters, but I try not to be bland. Made a Miqo'te race once but ultimately went male Au Ra. Retainers are everything but Lalafel. I have a small thing playing as female races, but I will NEVER make a Viera character, and making sure no retainer will or can either.
From science perspective : ants can lift a weight hundred if not thousand times heavier than them. So a Lalafel with the power of a ant would be a monstrosity (which if he doesn't have a beard and an helm is already one).

Honestly, it's pretty fun when you're tanking big ass monsters that could literally eat you in a single bite, and you barely as tall as most grass in the game XD

Its been six years already o.o
I do like mixing up opposite ideas like tiny puppy-looking tanks and giant hulking healers. There was a time where I intentionally made all my frail healer-looking characters into tanks and vice versa, but for now, I'm just going with a generic looking cat dude so he looks not bad no matter what job he takes.
I like doing weird ideas for single player games, but since I'm not planning on making a second toon anytime soon, I went as middle-of-the-road boring as possible so I'm not as likely to regret the decision later.
