Darkest Night and other shields
With the DRK skill Blackest Night you get the dark arts buff if your shield is broken, as I understand it. My question is "What about other shields?"

Say you have a scholar who shielded you, and then you use Blackest night for even more shields. Do you need to break all of the shielding, which could be more than the 25% it gives you, or can you only take the 25% from the blackest night and get the buff while keeping your healer shield?

I believe TBN takes priority, meaning damage taken will always count toward breaking it before any other shields. Saw this happen last night, actually - popped TBN and then my scholar landed a critlo. I had a shield dang near equal to 100% of my base HP. Took a tankbuster and that shield dropped by about half - Dark Arts procced.

Awesome, thanks for the answer.

Bubbles fall off from damage taken in the order they were applied. So if TBN goes up first, it takes the damage first. If the adlo goes up first, it takes the damage first.

this could actually be a neat experiment to see what layers of shields are above others. TBN is always the top layer as stated
if you want to get better answers from people who are experienced at the game and at your job in general, search the Balance discord.
They do stuff like answer your questions, show you better rotations, BiS and answer your questions (this would've been instantly answered there aswell)
