Error i2501

I'm trying to purchase a couple of skip potions from "Optional Items" over at Mogstation dot com, and whether I try and pay with Steam Wallet or Credit Card, I'm getting "Error i2501". I've been trying all day to get through to SE support and whenever it gets down to being 5 in the queue, it just stays that way without changing for far longer than the remaining balance of estimated time, the longest being over two hours for and estimated wait time of three minutes. I get the same message when I try to buy Crysta, and it occurred to me I won't even be able to pay for the subscription with this issue happening.

I'm posting this with the hope that someone else has had this problem and overcome it, and that you might share your experience.

By the way: during my original attempt I had an active VPN, but I've since made sure it's off and completely closed down even in the background.

Now that they're four minutes from closing it jumped up from 5th in line to 6th. Also have been on hold for the "next avail rep" on the phone for a full hour now, just listening to the message repeat.

Error i2501 - This error means your account has been blocked from making transactions. This usually occurs when there has been failed payments or when the payment provider blocks your payment (for unknown reasons). The most direct way around this is to purchase a timecard from another vendor or to attempt to purchase Crysta with PayPal.

The 401, 406, 601 and i2501 errors may occur if you enter incorrect payment information, causing the financial institution responsible for the card to reject the payment method.



Additionally, these errors can occur if you are not currently in the country where your card was issued. Similarly, if you are using a VPN or proxy service that changes your IP address to that of another country, this can also trigger the error.



If you experience the problem more than twice, please avoid attempting to register the payment method again, as multiple payment failures can lead to the card being blocked for up to 30 days.



Before trying again, please check the following:

o Ensure that all entered payment details are correct

o Contact your bank to confirm they are not blocking registration to an online payment service

o Ensure there are enough available funds on your card or account



If you have encountered error 401, please consider one of the following solutions before trying again:

1) Use an Internet browser for which no add-ons have been installed,

2) Use the incognito mode of your browser, in which all add-ons are automatically deactivated,

3) Try to disable your internet browser add-ons one by one.

4) Use PayPal to purchase Crysta to complete your purchase.



Should the issue persist after checking the above, please contact us with the following information:

o Exact error message/code number

o The item or service you're attempting to purchase

o SQUARE ENIX ID

o Payment method you are trying to use (credit/debit card or Crysta)

o Type of the card used (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)

o Country the card was issued in

o Country you are currently in

o Name of the bank that issued the card

o Number of times you tried to process the payment after you got the initial error message

Thanks, Elazul. I'm not seeing my particular issue there, as far as not being able to pay with Steam Wallet, but it might be that I was initially using a VPN and need to wait 24 hrs.

Update: I did finally get through to customer support, but all she was able to do was "escalate" the ticket, and tell me to wait 24 hrs and try again, "hoping they would have been able to clear up the issue by then", and to "call back if not".
