The minute Squaresoft put boosters into the game they negated your argument, You can pay to miss out 90% of the boring old content with money, Now all they need to do is cut that pesky 10% thats left and do it properly.
If I would want RNG on my loot I would play Diablo 3.
As for this game I can understand due to this being an RPG and people have or want to make alts and don't want to MSQ again.
So I’ve started characters over and over at the moment I’ve got one to 51, 30 and 42.
And I’ll ever done is just the RR story and I’ve enjoyed just that of the game.
I work scattered work weeks where some weeks I’m doing nights to early morning shifts and I’ve managed to get levels no problem.
Sounds like you want to be spoon fed the option to skip everything in the game to get to the end of the new content.
Why not enjoy everything you can do in each expansion and go at your own pace?
You ain’t sonic, don’t gotta go fast.
Just take a deep breath and either enjoy the game for it is or don’t but just let it go then instead. don’t sit on the forums moaning about it especially on the steam forums where not a single square member will see this.
If any one spends money on the level boosts why even play this game, I thought mmos were all about grinding and working for the things to earn?!
How many hours have you put into FF14?
The 70-80 leveling is also very smooth, and if you skip the Cut scenes (not sure why) it apprently doesn't even take that long a day or two at most, so calling this game a grind is just stupid.
Really dude come on, Go watch some podcasts you`ll see the story is being cut to ribbons by alot of ardent fans, Including guys like Scottzone, delmontyb and worktogame who are all though scott more recently really positive fans of FFXiV but even these guys who love how the game has developed in their latest podcast shot down the story as being poor to very poor. MrHappy also admitted to skipping story cut scenes to just get on with leveling so it`s far from perfect.
Splat`s
How many hours have you put into FF14?
I bought the FFXiv, Collectors edition sans faux leather wrapped mug and map... About 400 hrs, then RR collectors probably close to the same maybe alittle more and maybe 50-80hrs into each expansion Just because I would like the leveling changed dosen`t mean I don`t play the game. Perhaps it`s not having the free hours as I did years ago to play but I still believe they could have done a better job making it more a game for the west.
Oh and one more point, FFXiV is actually a niche game in Japan, It`s not widely played, Final fantasy as a franchise is huge there but this game isn`t.
We live in a society that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moans about everything, for example in video games like MMORPG's, we ♥♥♥♥♥ about being way too casual or grindy, we are never happy with what we have and all this clouds the fact that these guys at SE, knowing how poorly the game was received at it's initial launch back in 2010, could have easily pull the plug and move to other projects but they managed to turn it around patch the live version and backstage rebuild a game from scratch because they believed in that path and now we are in the 3rd expansion which has elevated the game to new and great heights, it's successful, it has a community that loves the game and alot of critics and haters as well, if you go around Steam you will see many posts like this mainly around the time of launch of the new expansion because the game keeps raising the bar with each expansion pack at it's in a great place right now...i guess that to some competition out there devs and players alike this success that FF14 is getting must pinch a little...even if it is a little pinch it means something.
This game is very accessible, designed to be enjoyed by people with any amount of time available, and designed well. I can play a couple hours most nights (but not all) and it's a very fun game.
OP is basically crying that the buyable cheat codes don't finish the entire game for you. OP, just light $25 on fire and tell everyone you've 100%ed the game - it'll be the same effect.
I enjoy the story but yeah i know i'm not one of those youtube/twitch guys...
