1.) Get CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) and use it to force your display's refresh rate to something 90 or less. Read the directions and do this at your own risk - you're unlikely to hurt your display by underclocking it, but out-of-spec is out-of-spec.
2.) Plug an external monitor with an acceptable refresh rate into your laptop and play it on that.
Both options suck, but the devs have been informed in force on the official forums and have acknowledged the problem.
1: right click your desktop and open up Nvidia Control Panel
2: Adjust Desktop Size and Position: override the scaling mode set by games and programs
3:Change resolution: click customize.
4: make sure its the res you want, only tested 1080p.
MOST IMPORTANT PART: now, change the FPS to 90. save and apply this resolution, then switch to it.
Your game should now not crash. Downside is youre limited to 90 in other games too, until this is patched and you can switch back to 144hz screen.
Mine didn't until I did this. It makes you accept terms and conditions to do so, but I've never heard of anyone having trouble from this kind of thing.
Square Enix how could you change something that actually locks people out of their game...
