Roll on gear.
Expert delivery - get company seals.
Buy glamour prisms with company seals.
Sell glamour prisms on market board in packs of 50.
Though in practice all you ever really need to buy in this game are materia, and you can just join hunt linkshells for the cracked clusters you need to get the materia
lol
It's true. Sure, it won't be the FASTEST method, but it is decent, easy, method. My retainers have brought me multiple carbuncle benches, which, when I sold them, sold for roughly 300K per.
That's ignoring the Pure White and Jet Black dyes. Those sell for a LOT. Sure, they're also silly rare, but if you're not planning to USE them... that's like another 500K there.
MATS from MAPS
If I had to guess, I would say crafting has only given me about 2-3 million of my 20 million gil.
The rest comes from:
1. Poetics and Goetia
2. Hunts
3. Quick Exploration
4. Playing the market board
Never cap out on your poetics and goetia. These sell for a significant amount of gil if you know what to sell. With poetics, you can trade them for Grade 3 Thanalan or Shroud soil and sell them on the MB.
With Goetia, buy the Multifacated crafting ingredients and sell them on the MB.
The vast majority of my gil (I would say 50-60% of my gil) comes from this alone.
Secondly, doing constant hunts gives you Poetics, Goetia, and Cracked Stella and Plani clusters, which you can then trade for Materia 7 and 8, which you can sell on the MB for more gil (I hoard mine. I currently have about 200 Plani clusters).
Depending on where you kill the hunts, they will also give Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Nuts, which you can then trade for even more stuff to sell on the MB.
Quick Exploration is also what you want to be using all the time with your retainers. It is expensive venture wise, but the chance of obtaining extremely valuable items makes up for it. They can potentially bring items that are worth hundreds of thousands of gil on the MB.
Lastly, just playing the MB whenever you see an opportunity. This makes up the last percent of my gil. When you're browsing the market board, you may come across a high value item that somebody is currently selling for extremely cheap. Go ahead and buy it all up, and just resell it at high price.
For example, one guy was selling Table Orchestrians on a different world for 30-50k gil. So I went ahead an bought every single one of them (about 9 or 10). I then resold them on my world for 120k gil, and as of now, all of them except for 1 has sold.
Another example, another guy was selling Pure White Dye for 120k gil. So I went ahead and bought it all, and resold it for 250k gil. Sold instantly.
1. find an item people want to buy ( as mentioned earlier in the thread )
2. visit another world and see if you can buy it cheaper.
3. if successful, post it on your world for higher price and pray that undercutters don't come in doing dumb stuff.
4. repeat until you have more money
or you could just learn to craft since it's way easier to just make your own items and sell them for more than what they're worth :^)
