Characters dancing or standing forever in one place?

As a noob, in hubs like Lominsa I see the same few characters that are apparently designed to just stand emoting all day. I can come back hours later, same characters either dancing or emoting. Day after day, month after month. One is parked in front of the market board in their underwear doing nothing, but not booted for afk.

They're paying 15 a month to do that? What's the point?

You know the guys with the glowing sticks that guide air planes on the runway?
They are guiding in the players from other worlds. You mostly see it in Limsa cause that's where everyone teleports into. If you don't want to see it anymore, just stand where they are and do a different dance, you'll crash tons of other players computers as you guide them into hostile areas or even parts of the game that aren't finished yet.

Rping or just speaking in linkshells/guild chats all the time. Not really surprising and as long as they are not gold selling I'm fine with them keeping the game funded

If that baffles you wait till you see the Jades on Primal. what is it 6-7 characters all payed and controlled by 1 person afking emoting all day and I think Aether has someone doing something similar but using the Performance Feature.

$15 a character $20 x 8 everytime a new outfit hits the mogstation, Its their money but holy crap do people go wild in this game.

i dont usualy see that many ppl afk but than again i dont visit places like limsa most of the time
as for not getting booted there are few thing that an prevent that 1 jump
or tiny chat or they leave chat with NPC open and game wont kick you either but why bother there are some other free to play games where i literaly see the same players being afk nearly 24/7 from maintenance to maintenance xD its bit odd to pay money to just be afk all the time but i think some ppl just hang out chat or just wait for others who knows but its not that bad.

i don't see any real problem. the reason? maybe they are someone who has so much extra cash to burn they don't give any s***s about spending money each month to fund a game they aren't even interested in playing.

Plenty of people I know tend to AFK in a city hub in the game while they talk with friends either ingame or in discord. Some people spend time there out of habit and or like to have the game on when they do other things around the house.

Not that I blame them considering how mindnumbingly boring Shadowbringers was. Even AFK:ing at limsa is sometimes more stimulating than ShB's story and world was.

Not a problem, just curious as a new player. I honestly didn't know if there's an achievement they are trying to get, or part of the way to earn the mentor crown status . . .

ah the jade cult, and the dancing cat man in the moogle mask
