How can I avoid another login restriction?
So I got a new laptop for Christmas this year and I was getting FFXIV to be installed on here. Lo and behold, I was hit with a login restriction since it was a new PC! I probably should've known, but now I know better. The problem is if I want to bring this game to another PC or a PS4, how can I avoid this situation again?

Get and authenticator. Either the physical fob off the SE Store or grab the free app for iOS / Android and set that up. It eliminates the login restrictions for new devices / internet connections.

It only happens if you mess up your password, no? I've tried it on different computers but on all these attempts I've messed up my password, so I didn't get surprised by the restriction. If it happens even if you put it right, a security measure, then the only way is the authenticator.

It actually happens any time your IP address or computer identity changes. It's a safeguard they set in to prevent hacking. Possession of a security key overrides this.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I won't need to switch PCs again, but I'll definitely keep this in mind!
