I have no cd key..

So my husband purchased FFXIV on his steam account. (On the same PC.)
We alternate between our steam accounts a lot but I decided to purchase FFXIV on MY separate steam account because in the near future we're getting another pc and we want to play together.
I downloaded it and installed it but steam thinks we purchased the game twice on the same account??? And now I was duped out of my key. Ive tried right clicking to show cd key and I've checked my email for it. The game wont launch and gives me an error message.

when I researched steam support it mentioned you cant have more than one of the same game on one account.

It's not on one account its on two different steam accounts and I am 100% sure of this. In fact it asked me if I wanted to ask my husbands account to share the game (Which obviously is impossible if I want my own ARR account!). I'm very peeved as steam had no problem charging me for the game before ripping me off. I tried to use steam support but it wouldnt direct me to a solution or a living person so I'm going to try for a refund.

Has anyone else had this crazy isssue? How (if possible) did you resolve it.

Does the game show up in your library as your game and not a family shared title?

If not then you double purchased on the same account, submit a ticket to steam explaining the situtation to receive a refund.

If it is on your account, there may have run out of keys to give. You simply have to wait until steam receives more keys to give out.

I had this issue just the one time. Refunded and now all my friends / etc... do NOT use Steam for FF14.

There IS a reason why Valve has a consistent 'F' ratings across the board from the BBB. If you ever have a choice between a) refund or b) dealing with Steam Customer Service... always choose a). Easier on everyone all around.

Besides, non-Steam means SE gets more of our money.

yeah steam version is inferior as it limits your purchase to valve only. I only own it cause of the time tracker. My account is a retail version.
