What's the best way to level crafting past 50 besides leves?
I wasted all my allowances on gathering, what's the best way to get my crafting to 70 besides leves?

Have to echo the Moogle Beast Tribe quests.

Moogle dailies, your daily GC turn-ins, and collectables will be your bread and butter if you're not wanting to do leves.

I did leves 15-50 then moogle beast tribes 50-60, then did leves again 60-70. The Beast tribes aren't going to be the fastest but they are the least amount of effort as you dont need to farm any mats and you need very minimal gear.

you get dbl xp simply crafting items on the list you havent be4,gc turn ins,{{{get quantity and use the buff from squadren or red scrips}}},dont foregt gc turn ins i leveled one of my crafts in a week from 60 to 70 almost from simply grandcompany turn ins

1. Leves
2. Moogle Quests
3. Collectables - really post 57 for best benefit
4. Grand Company Turn Ins
5. Crafting Level Quests give decent enough + better items
6. Finally Craft Log at highest level you can do, plus each new item crafted gives bonus xp.

HQ gives double exp for turn ins. Have food benefit for more exp (3%+)

I'd also recommend crafting for more gil through FC, friends, marketboard. You can get better items, melds etc that give higher chances of HQ means u get more exp pre item crafted.

unfortunately, leves are by far the best way to get your crafters to lvl 70 but I might be able to offer you some tips:

* Do your GC deliveries every day and make 100% sure you turn those in HQ for double exp and double GC-seals (note that this works for leves as well; turn them in HQ and they reward double exp)
* Beast tribe quests (Moogle & Ixali) not the fastest but easy and quick
* Craft items you haven't crafted before in your crafting log (even better when you can make THOSE HQ as well on the first try. The higher the quality, even if not resulting in a HQ end result, the more exp you will get)
* Collectibles....this has a nasty caveat though; past lvl 60 most of the easy to craft collectibles will only reward you 10K exp whilst you need millions and those that DO reward a decent amount of exp will usually require materials that are not the easiest to come by. Past lvl 65 this almost always means you will rather do a leve (or wait 12 hours to get an allowance) than crafting the same item as a collectible to turn it in for 25% of the exp....the upside, however, is that you can do this ad nauseum...so if you have the mats but no allowance; go for it.

and finally...

* NEVER quick synth and ALWAYS have a food buff up; quick synthesis will award you exp as if creating the end result with 0% quality EVEN if you use HQ materials. As such it's ALWAYS better to do the work yourself. Yeah it's tedious, yeah it's slow but that 3% bonus exp from food and any 1% worth of quality on your craft will add up in the end when it comes to exp.

Good luck

EDIT: P.s. Why spend ANY leve allowance on GATHERING leves anyways unless it was for fishing? What this does is basically cheating you out of materials you'll eventually need to level your crafters and besides; if you DON'T want to spend millions on the MB to level your crafters (buying materials you need for leve items) you will end up with a huge need for materials; which will eventually level up your gatherers naturally (and still faster than your crafters will level (I think my MNR/BTN hit 70 whilst my crafters were still at lvl 60)

1. Amount of one-time bonus exp for new craft is insignificant to bother with all these unique mats you have to get.
2. The only collectables which will give you mere 10k are these from Heavensward, it is normal thing, same was for ARR collectables during HW, it is also similar to Crafting Beast Tribes. There are also a lot of collectables which requires small amount of mats, of course it is nothing compared to leves (usually) but it is fine.
3. Quick synthesis is good if you need certain mats in good quantity. At higher levels of crafting quantity of crafts per certain times is more important than HQ (unless for leve/collectable ratings) it is better to quickly quick synthesis trash in order make more collectables/leves in time you have.

we're talking exp though and if you need the exp Quick Synth is the lowest amount of exp you can get, the HW collectibles worth 10K are worth MORE before you reach a certain point (when I first got them I did fossilized Dragon Bones for plenty of exp untill 3 levels later they trned to 10K.

As for the amount of exp you get from crafting something for the first time. yeah it's insignificant, so is the 3% exp bonus, so is collectible farming V.s Leve farming or the Job Quests...if you want to look at it like that leves is the ONLY profitable way to get exp for a crafter or gatherer. I hate to say it man but way to look on the negative side because if you start adding all those bonusses together you'll suddenly see that they actually reward you with a significant amount of "free" exp at the cost of grinding out some, generally, easy to get materials

Leves, deliveries to your guild-company, and beast-quests - people said moogles but I remember also crafting for the Ixal (the chaps who want to fly in their big air-balloon) at times - the XP from doing their deliveries shouldn't be sniffed at.

First-time craft bonuses are always nice, yet I wouldn't waste money on getting materials just for that little tick of XP. I've all crafting @ max with the exception of CUL (58), which I ignored for the duration of SB release. I'll be working on that over the next few days.

Don't forget to grab your Engineering Manuals, Crafting Food & Special Tea's.
