I'm guessing you'll have to enter into Moog.. seems like Steam doesn't control the content of this game like it does others
I've been wondering about this myself, since I am planning on purchasing the exp as well..
steam is just the launcher.. your SE login determines what content you see.. I'm on mog station now and I can add exp packs to my account.. Steam doesn't control the content for this game
*edit* when you bought base game on steam, did you not have to create a mog station account and enter your key there? I did.. only thing steam purchase did (it seems) is enable steam wallet for ongoing sub
*edit2* more specifically, login to mog station (with your ff14 account), click the giant "manage service options" button, then click the giant-er button, "enter expansion registrtion code" and enter the code from amazon..
I'd really love to know if this works because I wasn't plannin on buying exp packs thru steam -- thanks!
Thats what I already tried. Exactly step by step.
kinda sucks and doesn't make sense because you can uninstall steam, delete your account (if that's possible).. download the trial launcher from SE, login and play your full game..
it seems purely an artifcial restriction they put there to... ??? not sure.. but have a hard time believing that steam somehow strong-armed SE into this deal
This is correct; non-Steam expansions won't work with an account registered with the Steam version of the game, and Steam versions of the expansions won't work with accounts using non-Steam versions of the game.

bummer..
If i remember right, if you contact support they'll fix it for you.
It's not artificial nor is it anything to do with strongarming. It has to do with tying keys into the Steam API.
I don't think I'll ever fully understand why that applies to the expansions and not just the base game.
