Is solo healer viable?
I was considering going Conjurer mainly because I heard it's pretty viable in Dungeons/Raids, but was wondering if I could comfortably solo in the early game until I manage to find a group of people to stick with.

I always level MMOs as a solo healer.

FFXIV is definately not one of the bad games to do this in. You have the advantage of being your own healer, though combat is a little slow.

Alright thanks. A little OT but how does Archer/Bard play? Are they important in team play? How high in demand are they? I'm on the edge of either going Conjurer or Archer as of right now, since I've had mixed views of playing DPS in other MMOs.

They're DPS like any other DPS. They're pretty fun to play and IMO, it's the enjoyment that matters. They and Machinist are the game's physical ranged DPS, both having some degree of support effects.

In my experience, soloing as a healer is easier than some DPS, thanks to the self-healing potential. Though it takes a little longer.

White mage is the best for it, because stone actually packs some punch.
Scholar was pretty good at it in Heavensward, since they could go into cleric stance and their fairy's healing was still full power. Not sure if that's the case with Stormblood changes, though.
Astrologian has their cards to speed things up. Enhanced Balance, for when you want mobs to die already.

Bard's pretty nice support job. Their songs are almost passive party buffs, since you'll be using them to buff yourself as part of your own rotation. You don't even have to think about cast times or reduced damage while using them anymore.

You get some pretty handy Group-support spells. You always cast skills quickly and you're quite mobile. And now with SB you're also pretty hard-hitting with the right combos.

Sadly however most of the supportive skills only aviable veeeery late. A shame since some of them would've been handy for older content like the primals.

And as said you're going to have a much better time dodging ranged AOE unlike most caster classes.
I "think" machinist is a bit similiar mobile-wise but much more dps focused. Tho I have absolutely no idea about that class since I see it very rarely. No idea why.

As someone who ditched all characters like hot-spuds when I unlocked CNJ, yes, solo-healer levelling is perfectly fine. Before the latest changes, you had cleric stance which essentially turned you full DPS at the cost of heal efficiency. Now, you have the best of both worlds without any CD-gating. Assize and Holy will get you through AoE moments later - until then, you have plenty of tools to keep enemies busy while you comfortably lob stones & dots, all the while letting regen babysit your healthbar.

Found it nice and relaxing at the time compared to other classes.

Have to say its much easier to level up, cause queues in Duty finder are almost instant for healers (as they are for tanks). So no problem in leveling any healer class.

As a whitemage I can tell you that soloing CNJ/WMG is really pretty easy. And it's actually fun to be a healer in this game, at least in my experience.

Well to respond to your inquiries about BRD, they're highly sought after for end game content. They provide high dps along with a slew of party buffs that make you the love of the party if you play correctly. That said its also in my opinion one of the busiest jobs right now, with a multitude of things to keep track of at the same time, from your standard cooldowns (Raging Strikes, Battle Voice etc.) to your straight shot proc upkeep, to having a song up and watching for its procs, and looking out for bloodletter and refulgent arrow procs you'll find yourself getting absorbed just staring at a hotbar in alot of fights.
