A bug for FFXIV with steam.

I am not sure if this only happens to me but i think FFXIV has a bug with steam. I just started playing FFXIV as in i bought the full complete edition and just upgraded from the free trial. So my issue is when you play FFXIV on the bottom right screen steam has a message letting you know that you can press "shift and tab" to view your product key when the game asks for that. I am not sure how else to get rid of it as its in the way but when i go to bring the message up by pressing"shift and tab" the whole thing freezes on me and i cannot exit out of that steam windows to get back to my game so there for i have to restart my laptop everytime that window from steam pops up and its annoying. I don't know if this happens to annoying else or is it just me?. i can't report it to steam im not sure how and i think its a bug.

Ah yeah, the game does not play nice with the Steam overlay.

You can try disabling the overlay by right-clicking the game in your library and going through the options. Or do what I do and run the launcher directly instead of through Steam. I had similar problems when I first got the game.

The only downside to directly running the launcher is 1. No steam overlay, so you'll have to tab out entire to check Steam messages (and might have other problems with this, depending on your system) and 2. No logged play hours on Steam. (I wouldn't count either of these as significant downsides, personally.)

yah thanks for the advice but i have to run FFXIV threw steam because the game launcher on my laptop wont work. a few months ago i have been getting theses errors everytime if i try to install things or depending on the app if i try to run the app derictly on my laptop i get the error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click Ok to close the application. it only pops up with some of the application i get in my case it pops up with FFXIV app on my laptop.

also here is my laptop specs i can run most mmorpg but not games like GTA V or games that require higher specs.

Acer Aspire ES 15
