How did your first extreme trial go?

As for me, our group disbanded and didn't even finish... got a lot to learn it seems.

That's why there is something like statics or FC's to go with.

Unless you play on the ♥♥♥ datacenter you should avoid PF like the plauge. You can get lucky and get a really great team or a group that progresses rather fast but it's a gamble and the changes for this to happen are very very low.

Pretty sure my first group disbanded too, haha. Just keep at it, join learning parties until you feel comfortable, and then join clears. You can do It! Good luck!

This, its probably the best to go with your FC or a Static. I just went in my first time at Lakshmi EX with 4 others from my FC and we almost cleard it after the 3rd Try (3% Wipe). Problem was that most of the random DDs dont read up Guides and die over and over, and we hit the Enrage timer

i did my first extreme trial like... idk a week after SB release... with randoms, without any guides, the entire group was completly blind and we learned it on the fly. It took me like 5 tries to clear lakshmi ex and 11 tries to clear susano ex (with multiple groups). So doing it in PF isnt completly impossible you just need some people which can remember stuf flonger than 15 seconds

Therein lies the problem, the average player can't remember for longer than 15 seconds and most won't do mechanics.

It's rough, but I kinda like it when there's problems to be honest. Still, I do my best to learn the fight and offer solutions.

Don't remember my first attempt, but since I had started playing just a couple months before HW, I remember doing the seven ARR primals (plus Odin) in a hurry to catch up, all via DF.

Each one was a different story. Some were cleared on first try, no wipes. Some took a few tries, some took several tries. Sometimes people ragequit, and in sometimes I was the one ragequitting.

All in all it was a fun experience. Thornmarch can die in a fire though.

My first Extreme trial was Thornmarch Ex like a month ago. Me and 2 of my friends did it in like 5 minutes or less.

Recently though I decided to do Lakshmi and Susano Ex and those went very differently. Some PF groups are like butter and some are half full of people playing blind when the PF group is labeled "farm; know the fight".

Practice party: I couldn't be bothered to watch a video, don't expect to clear
Clear party: I have watched a video, expect wipes, might brute-force clear
Clear for a friend / Know the fight: I want a free carry, I expect you to clear
Farm party: I got carried once, we might clear once or twice between wipes

And since pretty much every trial is like this its so hard to learn the fights because everyone expects you to already know everything.

thats soemthign that bothers me.... kind of.... i understand why you want people to know the fight, to reduce the amount of time spent in there.... but i was now able to compare my HW time (which was basically "watch a guide for everything") and my SB time where i did EVERYTHING blind because there were only a few guides and people dont expected you to spoil the entire fight to you and doing the stuff blind was the most fun i ever had.... and now with a lot of guides wiping means disbanding the party... on most cases
