How is the Story in Stormblood?
I just finished HW and im kinda depressed because its over xD. I really enjoyed the Story and hope it keeps going like that. But People in my FC keep saying that the Stormblood Story is really borring and not that good.

Is it really that borring? Im really looking forward to it but its kinda disencouraging to read that

I found it alright. A bit of cheese here and there(which I honestly expected and wanted), but it's not bad.

Not quite as good as Heavensward, but definitely better than the 2.x story. I definitely wouldn't call it boring, though.

3.X > 3.0 > 2.5's finale > 4.0 > 2.X > 2.0 in my opinion

I liked it. It has a bit of cliche in it and that is probably why most people say it is not as good as HW. It still end with you wanting more from the next update/expansion.

**Just plays the Doma Castle theme on high**
It's not really fair to compare 4.0 story to the entirety of 3.x story since we still have the entirety of 4.x story to see.

People in your FC need to be reminded of the 3.0 cliffhanger that lasted all the way to 3.3 after the dullness of 3.1 and the "our princess is in another castle" of 3.2, and that 3.4 and 3.5 are pretty much just SB story before there was SB.
Okay, I think that Stormblood is weaker than HW but stronger than ARR.

Here's why:
HW's story was focused and believeable. It worked really well as it provided a compelling narative that made sense and you were invested in the story. SB doesn't really do this... In short: SB bites of WAY more than it should. You will see when you get through the story. Combine this with the fact that it resolves in just 10 levels worth of MSQ and it is just a bit dissapointing :(

If HW went for investment and quality, SB went for scale. The mistake (in my eyes) was that they did not take the time to properly develop and streatch out the story. This results in an unbelieveable story with little time to actually CARE about some of the characters and their plight.

I won't say the story is bad, just not as strong as Heavensward.

Don't expect antoher Heavansward and be pleasently surprised by the quality of the story. The pacing of MSQs is done fairly well and I did enjoy my time with it.

Edit:
To address the fact that 3.X was completed. I would still side with the 50-60 RELEASE HW being better than the current Stormblood story. I'm really hoping that going forward, Stormblood can become a unique and interesting experience rivaling the best gaming story experience I ever had (Heavansward)

To say it really it is actually my least favorite of the storyline.

Not saying it is terrible, but their was a lot of Hiccups, that I felt the story could have been better.

2.0 and 2.X is kinda low on the bar cause of their slower pacing to grow a world, and with the growth of characters and extensions, makes the story a less of a Threat then it once was. While 3.0, most of the characters were established through 2.0 or 2.X. While 4.0 rushed a lot of things going on that split the world a bit. They rushed a few things like being only level 61 and surprised the rebels were taken out like the Scions in 2.0, except we had 20 levels of Growth, with the Scions, and only 1 or 2 with the rebels and we had to feel defeated when we really didn't. Or overly extended like the story around Lord Hien, while I found Lord Hien a likeable character cause of his growth, but I felt they kept to him for too long.

TL;DR It is a Mixed bag for me, things went by too quick to get me a reason to care, or too slow that you start to stop caring.

To me, it is similar to how most people see 2.X, overall. I mean I haven't been this mixed since, the Warriors of Darkness, which in my opinion were wasted Potential, even though great seeing them.

I enjoyed 3.0 (not counting the patch content) far more than I did 4.0, but then again, I love dragons and snow

4.0 has its ups and downs. Some parts were pretty 'meh', other parts were awesome.
Unfortunately, a lot of the antagonists felt pretty bland to me. I didn't find the comic relief villain funny, Zenos is just too one-note for a major villain, and that scientist guy is just a less greasy Hojo. Oh, and the Doma viceroy has zero sympathy from me. The Ala Mhigan lieutenant was interesting, at least.

The latter half of Azim Steppe's MSQ (and a surprising number of its side quests) were pretty cool, and I will second Seraphna's [DOMA CASTLE THEME].

The more time I spend around raen, the more convinced I am that my character is an albino xaela.

Edit: For context, I spent about 90% of 3.x wanting all of my NPC companions to shut up already, and the last 10% actually giving a damn about them. Except Alphinaud. Alphinaud needs a desk job where he'll never bother-- Alisaie basically tells Alphinaud to do exactly that. Alisaie > Alphinaud.

Story isn't as interesting (its basically Star Wars), but the dungeon designs are a massive improvement. Raids feel a lot more imaginative.

It's worth going through however. Looking forward to seeing where 4.1 goes.

I mean... Are we going to ignore that part of the 3.0 msq had us "fight" a Pope accompanied by Andre the Giant knights?

Why is "fight" in quotation marks as though we didn't actually fight him?

Because we pretty much just stood there in the room until he died of old age. The normal version of it is Face roll Deluxe

Sry for the Late reply.

Thanks for all rhe Anwsers!

Allright so i know i shouldnt expect a HW, but thats allright. I guess not every Expansion can have a Top Story.

But ive another Question!

So this is my First FF and i dont know alot about the Lore and Stuff. And i dont know anything about Stormblood because i basicly hoped into the Game at SB release. I didnt have Time to read or watch anything about it because i was focused on ARR Story and lvling.

So my Question:

I remember from ARR and the Ninja Job Quest that Doma was taken over by the Garlean's (i hope i spelled that correctly).

Can i expect to see more Garleans in SB or did i mix up something?

If yes, is it possible to get some of those Garlean Armors?

Im asking because i reallly like the Garleans and the Theme when you encounter them.
Probably one of my favourite Bad Guys :p
