Even if it is the healer who is watching the cutscene ? ^^
It's not the healer. It's a healer. They're 8 man dungeons so there will be two of them. And even if it happens that both are new and watching cutscenes, none of the bosses will last long enough to wipe the rest of the group.
Follow your own advice.
I ain't gonna chew anyone out for watching cutscenes but it is annoying on Trials.
' please don't watch you can see them later at the inn' where it may be like 50/50.
soo that said, you may want to just say to your party if it's a 4 man dungeon
" I"m new to this one, mind if I watch the cuts?"
Since you can type during them (hit enter will show the chat box) and most will be Ok with it because your new to the dungeon.
Set your settings to 'skip' scenes you already have seen so when you go back to dungeons you have been in you will auto -skip.
You won't skip any you haven't seen yet but you always have the option to click 'skip' during it.
It's just a good way to go so you won't have to constantly click escape to skip them next time you go in one you already been in.
I tend to watch scenes in my first time dungeons when I'm in a party with friends/fc mates because they never mind.
In Pugs I just don't want anyone to have to wait so I usually skip.
It's just personal choice and I haven't yet made the time go back and just watch one's I've never seen at the inn but at least I know they are there, plus you can watch any msq cutscene too though I didn't know that at first.
Now in Praetorium and Castrum, I think those are the two that had scenes in the middle and since those are 8 person dungeons I'd say wait to watch at the inn because it can be kind of hectic your first time and some just aren't going to wait.
Rather watch later so you get to know what's going on in there. But again in the end it's your choice so if you do that in those just be prepared you may find you have to catch up to them or get locked out of a boss fight.
If you're holding up the group for your own cutscenes (which can be watched at the Inn) you're obstructing 3-7 other people.
You're one person. Others are 3-7.
Selfish.
If you're going into a dungeon that is specifically for Main Story and tell people to skip the story because you want it done faster, you're being selfish.
If you're seriously going to treat people like idiots by pretending that ANYONE is "holding up" a group by watching the cutscenes in these dungeons, you're not selfish, you're just a complete embarrassment and a waste of our precious oxygen.
Please stop trolling the thread. No one who plays the game as much as you've claimed to in the past really thinks a group would be held up by someone watching the cutscenes in those dungeons. The mere thought is laughable at best. A complete farce at worst.
I've been playing MMOs since 1999 and I can say without a doubt that I absolutely support people watching the cutscenes. Doesn't mean I did, as I personally don't have the patience to watch them in a group setting, so I chose to do so at the inn. But I fully support those who WANT to watch them.
I pity people like you who are more interested in your own fun instead of wanting others to enjoy themselves.
Even if 6 out of 7 of those others are also wanting you to skip, don't if you don't want to. You do you, broseph. I'll do me.
I really like the story of FFXIV and for me it would feel weird to skip it and then watch it later in the inn.
The only ones in which you are likely to be left behind are the 8-Man by the end of the ARR storyline. That was a bad design decision by SE (way, way too many cutscenes during them). They did not repeat this mistake afterwards.
