There actually is some sort of DPS meter but it's against the rules.
There's also a parser ... that is safe to use to my knowledge.
And why do you need DPS meter?
People only get banned because they mentioned numbers in chat. It is technically illegal to have it in game but SE let it slide as long people dont use the numbers to bully other players.
If you remain quiet and use the numbers for yourself, it will be fine.
Some people have been using it for years without getting a ban but no one can give a no ban free ticket, SE does whatever they want.
SE doesn't do whatever they want, it's against the rules ... period so if they notice it you'll get ban.
I want to compare myself to other Players both in and out of DPS Roles. If have the numbers to prove that my damage is bad, I can better work on improving it.. Atleast thats how I did it on WoW.
Gonna Check that parser out. Thanks.
Thanks for the Advice. I already figured that bullying is the only possible explaination why DPS Meters are forbidden. Dont really see much point otherwise.
Of course, could also mean one of your team mates needs to 'git gud', but you get my point.
Keep farming EX & savage, in future farms will go faster and faster as your gear improves and get more used to fight > runs go faster = more DPS.
Really doesn't mean a thing when you hit a dummy and mash your buttons faster then the speed of light. In real fights you will need to move around and causes you to be unable to perform your finish combo or some other high dmg ability you where about to fire off.
Ok well not really in normal mode but in EX & Savage at least.
Beat the DPS checks, kill boss before enrage, runs is going faster and faster over time > your DPS is good and keeps improving. No need for meter and no need to 'git gud'.
I used all these meters and parses and other chizzle in WoW too back in the days, but we don't really have all that info here and yet people stil beat savage and there are worlds first and all that stuff.
You don't really need it.
I get what youre saying, this game feels alot more decision relieant than micromanagement relieant, like it was in WoW. I just like to have options. As a new player some number comparissions will make me feel a lot safer in my playstyle. Dont want to learn the wrong way to play the game :D
Could follow a guide, but you'll most likely 'be able' to play when you reach max level, but you can still look at a guide and practice rotation on dummies.
It's also a longer GCD time then WoW, WoW raids aren't really hard even on Mythic you just need the correct gear and coordination use the right CD at the right moment, etc, just button mashing in the correct order.
And just learn the fight honestly that's why you will do more and more DPS the more you do the fight and the more you farm, not talking about gear upgrades here but just the flow of the fight.
Get more used to the flow of the fight, when it's better to use certain ability like wait to use this DMG buff so that later when I activate it I can take the full effect out it before I need to run away ... stuff like that.
I like the idea of parser because it gives a visual goal. Sure it has its drawbacks but still makes things interesting. You will always try to 1 up the person above you
If you out DPS a real DPS as a tank then that DPS is just horrible and shouldn't be in your static.
Depends on certain contiditions and the fight of course but if you just flat out push more DPS then he's bad, period. ...or something is wrong with that specific DPS job, but to my knowledge DPS should do more DPS even more now since tank DPS has got nerfed.
My goal is to go faster. I don't have ego or I don't need a meter to epeen and tell them how much more I do than them.
I just try my best and try to always beat stuff faster and faster, that's just my playstyle.
and as Shadezzz said SE will not ban you for using it but SE will ban you for mention it and use number to bully other
I see so many dps doing less than 2k there, it just sad. Then i met people who consistently do 4.2-4.5k like its no big deal and feel even more sad. But well it gives you some motivation to improve.
