Game keeps switching to desktop

For some reason, left-clicking frequently makes the game minimize and show the desktop. Clicking again brings it back, but it's a pain, since it usually goofs the frame rate. I'd be screwed if it happened in a fight too, but luckily that hasn't happened yet.

I started an account on a friend's PS4 a while back, but since I got this laptop for free I wanted to try it again. It's an old Lenovo Thinkpad we had laying around the office. Kind of a pile of ♥♥♥♥, so maybe that's the problem. I did buy a steam link during the sale so I'm playing it on a different monitor. I've had some weird issues with that too, so maybe it's that?

IDK, I've tried switching from windowed to full screen, played with some other random graphical settings, and had no luck. Any advice?

Try setting the game to borderless windowed mode.
