This game seems more PVE centric then any game I've tried so far in that they put a lot into the PVE world such as a main story content you follow ( guess with option to buy skip potions you can do that now though in my humble opinion it's a waste of a unique game aspect to do so however I understand there are players who won't like having to do a lot of quests in order to move to from expansion to expansion.), lots of side quests, side story quests ( quests that are side ones but with more involved story so longer), levequests, fates, many instances - dungeons, trials, raids, and a host of other activities - duty roulettes, challange logs, hunts, crafting and gathering classes, achievements, etc.
I kind of think PVP was kind of thrown in there because there will always be a player base that seeks to have both content in an mmo though I don't think if your a hardcore pvp player this game would satisfy that game play.
Again I'm just going on what I heard about it and see as content in this game. I have yet to participate in the pvp activities since I am not really into pvp however I know players that do it just for the rewards and very good xp it can give them to help level their classes. I would consider giving it a try for those reason myself maybe one of these days but I seem to always be doing something else so haven't tried it yet.
PvE on the other hand is really good, PvP is just not the focus of the game but a minigame.
While I see this cutting down will make pvp much easier to balance, it also cuts into a lot of what makes classes unique. Time will tell if it's an improvement or not though.
