I'm fairly certain it works in this direction (just not Steam Trial --> Windows for some reason). Still, give them a call to be sure.
The SE Support Number is: 08706000182
These are the two EU numbers and I believe UK based so +44 instead of 0. You want the second one.
Thanks everyone :) Fingers crossed!
"What I did was I first bought the game from outside steam because it was cheaper, I started playing, but then I decided I wanted it on steam. I ended up buying the base game again on steam later when it was really cheap, and was able to keep playing my original account through steam. I don't buy the expansions through steam, which works out fine usually since like Shadezzz said they go on sale more frequently outside of steam."
Basically, yeah. I haven't bought anything on the non-steam account yet. All I did so far was play trial on my account
The only way I know of to change is to just make a new account.
If the account is tied to a steam liscence you are able to use steam wallet, and all future expansions must be the steam version.
If the account is a normal pc liscence then you are unable to use the steam wallet, and all future expansions must be pc versions.
You can log in to your account however you download the game, steam or non steam.
The download platform does not matter.
The characters will be there based on the account you log in to.
So basically, since I haven't purchased anything, I can go from non-steam to steam with no problem. It's only AFTER I actually buy the game that I can't switch?
I believe a trial account may also lock into one or the other as well.
As with most support it depends on who you get, but it depends even more on how you speak. If you act irate and angry and as if they owe you something...well how do you like people treating you that way? Be polite and appreciative and these people can give you all sorts of benefits they do not have to on top of incredible service.
As for your question, Xeoseth, on locked into somethign after buying. I believe Taran is right that the account is locked upon how you initiated the trial. The mog station I thought explains it but I could be wrong.
