How the level-boost and MSQ-skip items work...
Hello,

Could someone please explain how the items for skipping Main Story Quest and level-boosting will work?

I played early ARR and then lost access to account (long story). A few months back, I decided I would just buy the steam version, which I did but ended up not playing much. Now, I will be getting Stormblood but don't want to do MSQ again and have no interest in HW.

How will the items work?

For example:

-If you buy MSQ skip item, can you still DO the quests later or are they "marked complete" for you?
-Do you get to see the story-clips at the Inn for the MSQ?
-How does the boost item works? Do you receive and in-game item that you click on and the level of the current JOB goes up to 60?

Any light you can she will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

- They're marked complete.
- You're treated to a 1 hour movie when you login catching you up on events. You can watch the cutscenes at the inn still.
- I believe like Fantasia you get an in game item and drink. You likely have to be the class you want to level when you drink it.

Thanks so much for answers!

Now, don't you need to do special Job quests past a certain point of leveling a class? How they get around that? For example, if I give my Lancer (who is level 1) the item and he becomes lvl 60, will he have the associated advanced Job already?

Man... I haven't played in so long I may be confusing stuff, but I thought that classes "evolve" into a Job after a certain class quest...
I think they are changing that when stormblood comes out so we won't have to level up other classes to get our chosen Jobs at 30. Also the cross skills will not be obtained by leveling other classes anymore. I am not sure on it all but that's what I been reading about some of the changes.

so since that skip item isn't available before SB launch I'd be guessing it all works together that way.

It's unlikely I would get that item, I"m already in the midst of the HW msq and for me it would skip an essential part of enjoying the game since I'm not in a rush to just head to SB however I am curious as to the rewards we recieve for each quest in MSQ and what happens to that if someone uses that item?

Now I wonder if those of us who don't use the skip potions will get to watch said movie...

Good question Blissy... It's kind of weird how hard it is to get info on the specific patch changed online. Other developers, by now, would have detailed lists of all that's changing.

Not only will you get to watch it, you'll get to play it, with tons of extra and/or expanded scenes to boot!

It give you a full set of level 60 gear including the weapon, but item level didn't mention.

IIRC it's a minimum ilvl designed to get you into dungeons to get your own gear.

Yeah, that makes sense.
