Chocobo racing

I has a pedigree 9 chocobo with 4 stars in everything but endurance which is 3 stars (yes I know how lucky I apparently was getting those on my first try from 8s) but wanted to know if it's worth going through the trouble of getting all 4 stars. Also it has choco drain III for a heredity which is pretty useful to me since I tend to get lucky hitting a bunch of npcs when they hug an item box. The other one is dressage III but that's only until I get it to 49 then I'll remove it and add something else. Any suggestions? I don't really care about the achievement for having all 4 stars to be honest if that's the only merit though.

Well the other question is whether I should be feeding the chocobo each time it levels or wait until it hits 50 and then do them all at once. I want to say the latter since it'd leave me able to see what I havve to play with but am probably wrong.

There is no achievement for getting all-stars in everything for your chocobo.

Last time you need at least all-stars in 2 out of 5 attributes to get Rating 285 for the Pedigree Champ achievement (Racing Chocobo Mask!), but they changed the requirement I think, now you get the achievement once your chocobo pedigree reached level 9 (way much easier to get the achievement now).

There is also another achievement Ride to the Challenge I, Race Barding as reward by completing the 15 chocobo challenge races. The last 2 race pretty challenging though.

Consider yourself very lucky got all-stars in 4 out of 5 attributes, you should keep it imo. Back then I had to spend lots of times waiting (18 hours each session for breeding if I remember?) to get a not so decent one but good enough to get my Pedigree Champ achievement.

For the race ability, I suggest either Head Start or Increased Stamina III but that's really personal preference.

You should feed your chocobo each time it levels, so it can stay on top of each race, meaning fast leveling up!

Eh I'll worry about working on it more after I get dragoon to 60 today or tomorrow.
