Automatic Subscription Renewal Refund?
Just noticed that I've been charged £46 for 180 days of playtime. I thought that my playtime was a one time purchase and not an automatically renewed subscription. I didn't receive any emails from Squenix lately to let me know about the payment either.

I haven't played at all recently, and I don't intend to play. Is there any way to dispute this? Any methods of contact? Lodestone is a mess.

I can't be sure but check at the mog station to review your account?

Subscriptions work in several different ways. If you accidentally purchased a standard sub that runs as a recurring subscription. you can change your subscription however I'd go to the mog station and read their billing cycles.

Entry; An introductory subscription allowing 1 character per World (monthly billing only).
* A maximum of 8 characters can be created.

Standard; A standard subscription allowing 8 characters per World.
* A maximum of 40 characters can be created. * A maximum of 8 characters can be created.
Subscription Period
30 days
90 days
180 days

The Standard is a recurring subscription so if you use that one you are billed again once the time you chose is finished unless you chanage or end your subscription.

You can change from standard subs to entry subs and visa versa but there are conditions about the billing you should review so you understand how that works.

hope that helps some.

Thanks for the info.
I have a standard account that I bought through Steam. Technically yesterday's payment that I'm wanting to dispute is my first payment handled through Square Enix directly.

I've read that Square Enix is strict with refunds, and that they're unlikely give a penny back.
Would a chargeback be a viable option? It seems extreme, but I'm in a bad financial situation right now. I need to be able to pay rent for next month. I really don't want to pay £46 for something I haven't used and have no intention of using

You can get a chargeback, and probably banned because they hate chargebacks.

No real problem there. Nosgoth made me lose most of my faith in Squenix anyway. Any reason to be worried by legal action or is it within my rights?

Actually the charge to my card reads:
STEAMGAMES.COM LUXEMBOURG LU

Not sure what to do at this point. I don't want my Steam account frozen.

How does one free-to-play mobile game make you lose faith in a developer that wasn't even developing said free-to-play mobile game?

The last time you bought gametime, was it using your Steam wallet?

By being a publisher which decides how the game will ultimately look because $$$, just like Activision with Call of Duty and EA with Battlefield

1. I wasn't asking you.

2. That's not how it works. Nosgoth was shut down because no one was playing it, and no one was playing it because Psyonix wasn't fixing any of the bugs.

EDIT: On top of that, I'm seeing a lot of comments on articles and such about it, with people talking about how they never spent any money on it. Which was also the cause of death of Exteel.

Square Enix are con artists, they won't give you a refund at all. Of that I guarantee you, enjoy being ripped off.

Chargeback is the only way, just don't expect to go back to the game later cause they will ban the account. Although why you would is beyond me, the game is garbage.

"Con artists"? For this to have happened he'd have to have specifically selected auto-renewal while using Steam payment. That's not a con, that's just not knowing that the user didn't think to not select the option he didn't want.

This.

The auto-renewal option is clearly labeled. Square didn't lie or withhold information. It's entirely user error.
