if you only level them in PotD, this difference isn't immedeately obvious, and isn't likely to be noticed by a leveling player thanks to the fact that most people don't tend to NEED a healer in PotD unless they've just stepped on a mine or a luring trap went off in an already crowded room. same thing for tanks. While there's three seperate tanks, they all have relatively similar skills, an emnity combo, an AoE aggro skill, their ranged skill, and a tank stance or two. but like the healers case, these classes all have rather different playstyles that you won't notice immedeately and actually learning how your class should be played in a party is hard to manage in PotD.
As everyone else has probably already said, it all boils down to your chosen class, server population, chosen content type, and time of day. I'm just back from 5 Trials in a row on my Tank to pass the time - and they all popped within (or just after) 5mins at 4-6am EU time, which is the complete opposite of peak time as you can imagine. If it WAS peak time, it'd be <1min at most (if not instant-pop), whereas my Healer would have a 3-6min wait and my DPS would have a 10-20min wait.
It's a pretty well populated server, so this is entirely as expected.
Unlike most, I have plenty of time to burn, so even when intentionally joining a long queue I'll always have something to do (and this makes it feel more tolerable - waiting around ALWAYS feels longer if you're doing nothing during it). Crafting & Gathering is a good way to fill the void - think of it as a way to feed your class later with filler-gear between tiers. It's usually a good idea to have a holy-trinity (DPS, Healer & Tank of Choice) when you can - this ensures you can play content whatever way suits your mood, and you have a queue-shredder via non-DPS roles when you just want to get ♥♥♥♥ done.
DPS. Non-peak hours. 15 minute queue.
